Outwars was a foundational game for me growing up! Janky as hell even by less modern standards but it’s still a solid game.

Duke Nukem 2 stole this gameplay mechanic from Cave Story and I will not hear anything different.
Duke Nukem 2's version of rocket jumping was part of the game's movement system. Duke's flame thrower, when aimed down, acted like a jetpack pushing Duke upward to reach new areas.
