-playing on road.-Down 31 players from Covid etc.- Dressed approx 45 scholly players. -Overcame halftime deficit to win CUSA west 3rd yr in a row.So proud of our football teams fight today. Truly awesome watching kids play for each other & be happy for each other making plays.

Yesterday I came out of “retirement” to finish the yr for for a friend/colleague’s class. Later that day she lost her battle w/ Covid. This teacher had the IT factor. Besides the HS pandemic life now these students have to face the loss of a mentor. Just hope I can comfort them.

While I was at @UAB_FB Coach Bowden spoke at @CoachBillClark ‘s clinic. Such a gracious & kind person. Even at 90 was still giving out great wisdom not only on football but life.

In my career I had to endure a lot of hurts and getting done wrong by a couple of people. But it all led to a path to be with this group of young men. So proud of their performance tonight. So happy for our players, fans, and School. this is not an end but a beginning. #OneC_Hill.

I was an asst for 13 yrs before my first HC job. Still wasn’t ready. It’s not the X&Os but running the entire organization that young guys don’t get. Finances, setting up ur vision, building a staff, handling every crisis (big or small), taking care of field & so on & so on
I think all coaches want to be Head Coach at some point, but it cannot be ego driven. I’ve heard young coaches say, "I don’t even want to be an Assistant Coach, only the Head Coach." What they're missing is a great lesson for coaches to watch other great coaches be great coaches.

1/Appreciate the many kind words. Little clarification here. I do not have a college job yet.I am going to try to break in at that level at an entry level off field type of job. Which means building relationships with guys at that level etc. takes time to do this.

The thing from todays CFP semis is we saw 2 teams battle back from double digit deficits to give themselves a chance to win. We saw teams absorb momentum shifts and win. The key component for these teams was that they simply kept playing. Just keep playing.

Busy day but it’s hard to believe it’s been 19yrs since 9/11. Still choke up watching the news reports. As a teacher I would always play the news reports from that day showing the 2nd plane hitting the tower. 9/11 museum one of the most moving places I’ve been to. #sacredground.
