Being a leader is about more than assigning tasks or making big decisions.
It's about trust distribution.
When you distribute trust, you empower individuals.
You're saying, 'I believe in you, your abilities, and your judgment.'
It’s powerful stuff.
But trust typically
My car got stolen last night.
Great opportunity to find everything in my life that can’t be stolen:
- Joy
- Faith
- Optimism
- Hope
- Love
- Perspective
- Will
- Purpose
Just to name a few...
I had the privilege of speaking to Alabama’s basketball team

28 days.
Here’s why I noticed and learned:
- Oats & Staff seemed relentless in finding what motivation would help their players. So tenacious.
- Their values are clear, tangible, and talked about
This little turkey just joined our family. My wife is an absolute rock star. Tough as nails. At 7:05 PM, we welcomed Whit Harris Scroggins to this world.

Read this line this morning:
“Trade your EXPECTATIONS for EXPECTANCY. Give up your plans and look for what God may want to do.”
Great way to approach the day.
“Dads: your sarcasm will not make your sons tougher, but it will make it tougher for you to build a relationship with them later.”

My ride or die’s.
Lots of relationships are getting closer in this season. Ours has.
Yes, we’ve had our fair share of conflict, but I’m learning it’s all God’s way of making us better.
And it would be like him to use social distancing to bring us closer together.

Asked our three-year-old what he had for dinner at camp tonight.
His answer: We has these really cool chicken nuggets that had a hot dog inside.
Aka...corn dogs.
“Leaders who wrap themselves in a security blanket of ‘If I were in charge’ or ‘When I’m in charge’ as an excuse for poor performance and lack of initiative will likely never be in charge.”
@AndyStanley
You can do any dang thing Jesus calls you to do. No, He doesn’t work contrary to His Word but there’s a lot more to His Word than so many acknowledge. We’re splicing, dicing & teaching our own mini Bibles. Pore over the whole NT. Study hard. Watch Jesus carefully. Follow the Lamb
If you want to stand out, take the stairs down. The stairs going up to the prominent places are way more crowded than the ones heading down to the low place.

Andy Stanley’s message today is so good and so important for any person thinking about walking away from their faith or from anyone who cares that people are.

90% of leadership is really just:
- Showing up predictably
- Being aware of your emotions
- Wanting the best for other people
The little stuff that makes all the difference.

When I don’t even know what to pray, I lean on the attributes of God.
Justice.
Truth.
Comfort.
Healing
I’m heartbroken and angry.
This has to stop.
Part 3:
• Drunk dude tries to pee in the aisle mid-flight, won’t calm down, punches a woman, & must be restrained.
• Flight diverts to SLC to remove him.
• The flight crew is over their time restrictions & new crew is called in.
• 4-hr delay. At 2am.
• Resilience, Sheryl.
Woke up this morning still feeling sad about the

But then I decided that I’m RIDE OR DIE with The Braves.
The pain will only make the joy greater when the curse is lifted.

After Jake takes a huge bite out of his little brothers pop tart, Cooper says to Jake, “That’s the meanest thing a brother has ever done.”
Lucy intervenes: “Nope. Cain killed his brother, Abel.”
Jenny and I are headed to DC for about 30 hours to celebrate freedom and democracy. And to talk about “How to Lead When You’re Not in Charge.” Seems appropriate for government work. 🤷🏼♂️
“When it’s easier to write a check than it is to get up and go, pay attention. That’s when it’s time more than ever to make a decision of obedience that costs you something.”

I’m still so torn up on so many levels from yesterday in ATL. When I don’t know what to pray, I lean on the virtues of God.
Mercy for broken, comfort for the mourning, steadfastness for the fearful, and hope for the hurting.

• About to leave on a red eye.
• Middle seat.
• Dude next to me smells like an old lunch box.
• Gotta admit, it’s gonna be tough to practice gratitude for the next five hours.
• I’m gonna try to pick it back up when we land.
• Until then, I’m gonna be in a bad mood.
It's the little moments in life that are so sweet like telling your first born the name of her new little brother. Just sitting around counting blessings today.
