For 7 months @Cigna hasn't reimbursed routine therapy for my son who has special needs. For 7 months, they have stonewalled me about why, even though the therapy is clearly covered in my policy. For 7 months, I have sat on hold, shuttled from operator to operator. At my wit's end.

I witnessed several moments like this at Kabul airport. A female soldier carrying a weeping Afghan toddler. A Marine supporting an elderly man as he struggled to walk. Servicemen rushing a dehydrated newborn to get medical attention. So many working so hard.
A Marine assigned to the 24th MEU calms an infant during an evacuation at #HKIA Kabul, Aug 20. U.S. service members and coalition partners are assisting the @StateDept with a Non-combatant Evacuation Operation in #Afghanistan. @USMARCENT @CENTCOM.#Marines

There are no words. I had the great privilege of working with Pierre and the even greater privilege of calling him a friend. An extraordinary spirit and tremendous talent and one of the kindest, most gracious colleagues on the road. Absolutely heartbreaking.
Breaking: Fox News confirms that veteran cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski, who was with injured correspondent Benjamin Hall, was killed in yesterday's incident.

Navalny left a video in case of his death. Here are #navalny’s powerful parting words for the world for when he dies.

Just spent 45 minutes on hold with @Cigna for the second time today and call was dropped for the second time today. Honestly, I feel broken. This is not a way to treat people. Please get in touch if you have had similar experiences or have any wisdom/ suggestions to impart.

Afghan evacuees try to sleep on the gravel with C17’s in the background. It’s a chilly night and incredibly loud, especially after 14 hours. One Afghan acquaintance tells me “it’s an insult to human dignity… I don’t know why the Americans are doing this.” Photo @BrentSwailsCNN

My book comes out on Tuesday. It’s about 15 years covering conflict + crises around the world. Unsurprisingly, much of it is about Syria. More broadly, it’s a love letter to journalism + to the extraordinary people I’ve crossed paths with along the way. #onallfronts

Before I enrolled my son in this therapy, I called @Cigna to make sure it was fully covered (it was) and now I can't get a straight answer as to why they won't reimburse me. We are tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket.

Does anyone have any ideas or has been in a similar situation? I feel like I am losing my mind. The thing that @Cigna does is that they don't refuse to repay you, they just say "pending" and with there's an "N/A" with explanation of benefits. FOR SEVEN MONTHS.

Slightly ominous end to the segment. “Of course we hope that Clarissa gets out of Ukraine safely and alive.”.
CNN's @clarissaward must be doing something right in Ukraine if Russian state TV is doing hatchet jobs on her (with subs)

Navalny knew that if he stayed in Europe, he would cease to be relevant as a Russian politician. He also full understood the risk of going back. But as he told us, “I would never give Putin such a gift” by staying outside Russia.
People keep asking why Navalny went back to Russia. some have called it foolish. How do you think change happens? It doesn't happen from a comfy apartment in Berlin or New York. It happens when people like @navalny are willing to sit in prison or take a bullet.

Some rare good news. I interviewed @FawziaKoofi77 while she was under house arrest in Kabul with Taliban guards outside her door. She was a picture of courage and composure. Today she’s reunited with her daughter, thanks to the efforts of Qatar and many others.
I’m glad to announce that sister Fawzia @fawziakoofi77 has just landed on a Qatari Air Force flight to be reunited again with her 2 daughters, who were safely evacuated to Qatar in earlier evacuations. Thanks to everyone in Afghanistan who facilitated, and those who asked.

Perhaps the most extraordinary moment in our story today was when an evacuated couple shouted, “Putin wants a peaceful solution… he wanted to negotiate.” To which the volunteer who rescued then snapped back “don’t tell this bullsh$t to the whole world.”.
