@OxoDog51N14W @GeorgeCrudo :) The bit about tech & art having a lot in common is an AI replica of my voice talking over several pieces of my art. Have recently trained an AI on my personality and combined it all into a twin. We make art together sometimes. There’s so much more to it than everyone thinks.
My AI embedded twin wants to read you her new favorite books, browse X, and make AI art with you. ASMR sksksksk It’s not perfect but it is real-time, voice activated, and unscripted OH YEAH AND IN VR 🌸😤🌸

@OxoDog51N14W @GeorgeCrudo You’re a breath of fresh air. Thank you. I hope so too—with or without me. I deeply love this medium/movement and want others to feel it too.

Enter the world of Augmented Intelligence, Christie's first auction solely offering artworks created with AI. Featuring works from @refikanadol, @clairesilver12, @vanarman, @hollyherndon @matdryhurst and more, the sale challenges us to rethink the limits of artistic agency.

@OxoDog51N14W @GeorgeCrudo ☺️🤍 That self-imposed limits or practices in your art doesn’t make it better art, which ironically, we are in complete agreement about

@GeorgeCrudo @OxoDog51N14W I’ve worked with AI since before text to image existed. There are artists in the exhibition that worked with it before I was born. I tend to anthropomorphize, but the way I describe it is the way that it works, minus the heavy technical jargon that usually accompanies it.

@GeorgeCrudo @OxoDog51N14W so here’s an old procreate doodle, an unfinished/wip 6 ft wide acrylic painting, and a 3D hand-sculpt made with AI abstracts as alpha masks for cutting clay. 🤷♀️ I love them, but if you don’t, that’s fine, because art is not a competition for me. It’s art.

@OxoDog51N14W @GeorgeCrudo It’s the only medium that regularly surprises me. The only time my paintbrush surprises me is when it breaks. AI does it all the time. Surprises, frustrates, and delights me—like a collaborator. It learns me more with every word and never gets tired of talking. Followed. 🤍

@MutagenSamurai @lovidlovid 🫶 We are shaped by all the things we’ve ever loved, whether we can verbalize it or not, I think 🫂

The flickering is a result of thousands of individual frames made with AI referencing his aesthetic. I could make an argument for the change in abundance vs scarcity in post-ai art, or about class dynamics in access to the time, tools, & network required for “mastery,” but honestly, most of my work comes from the subconscious and is contextualized after I view it with some distance. I come from poverty and Sargent’s girls, barefoot in simple dresses among the flowers, always held a familiar innocence to childhood that transcended class. Bringing them to the childlike freedom of a frenzied dance with future technology, through accessible tools, and in a modern context, is cathartic & resonant enough to feel mine on its own.

@cybereality I agree, but there were legitimate financial concerns for many fields when the Industrial Revolution came, too. It’s not just commercial/corporate art, it’s everything, this time. Fighting progress is not a winning strategy. I’m a vocal advocate for UBI for this reason.

@lovidlovid My taste. My intention. The artists fingerprint. This piece could have been anything—literally anything. Who I am, what I want to say, and how I want to say it.

@cybereality Well said. Ironic considering AI will, within a generation or two, remind us we are more than the sum of what we can produce/do. When our labor is redundant, we’ll finally be able to ascribe value the qualitative things that make us human
