For those starting out in the adult industry - you need to register as self employed as soon as you hit £1000 sales in a year - not £12,500, which is a common misconception. Please do get in touch if you need any help or have any questions.

Content creation is thriving for SW's but please be aware - £1,000 per year sales is when you need to register as self employed with HMRC - £12,500 is when income tax will kick in - you may not owe tax but when you hit £1,000 you need to be submitting your tax return each year.

Ltd companies owners: if your sales have gone down in the last 6-12months and aren't recovering - adjust what you take out of the business. Set aside 20% of all company income each month *before* you pay yourself. Set aside 10-20% of what you pay yourself React now not later

@iamevarose From what I’ve seen it comes down to the specific insurance company. Their own views on what they are happy with or not. I’d always advise to try it. And also, with the different streams of income, from cam, meets, modelling, there should be some cover available to most workers

For the ladies and gents who work on Cam/Vids/Clips - Your sales are total turnover, if you use a "credit" system with your cam site, you'll still need to declare the total sales and then the credits you spend back are expenses. Total profit the same - but done correctly!

@little_rabbit_t @MegaraFurie It is hard to argue they are not tips when the relationship is purely domme-client. The £50 rule applies to gifts to employees/clients in business and i suggest could apply to self employed workers and their clients. Cash is never likely to be accepted as a gift by HMRC.

@little_rabbit_t @MegaraFurie I believe the "small gifts allowance" of £250 refers to inheritance tax - whereas i would say HMRC would see a findom receiving payment is a sale of the service they advertise
