@Yes018471858115 @justenholstein @stillundone @isaiah_bb @ExileGrimm This is the same argument as the no true altruism argument. You only do it for the social benefits or the good feeling you get. Does it really matter? If you’re doing good things it’s net good.

@mojavvescribe @stillundone @isaiah_bb @ExileGrimm How is “for liberty and justice for all” not sufficient to differentiate from support of policies versus support of upholding the ideals.

@Yes018471858115 @Lorenzo1745796 @stillundone @isaiah_bb @ExileGrimm “Most Christians are shitty people” is an obviously biased take. I’m Jewish and most Christian’s I’ve met have been incredibly kind and caring people.

@jalexcooper The right finally learned the lesson from the left. “It’s not happening and crazy for saying it” “Even if it did happen it’s good but it’s not happening” “It’s happening and it’s good”

@ParakletosSteve @RedPillMediaX Saying Jesus wasn’t necessary without the existence of the Jews is Christian blasphemy

@Lorenzo1745796 @Yes018471858115 @stillundone @isaiah_bb @ExileGrimm You’re assuming that as the primary religious motivator which I disagree with. However, there are people that are only motivated by that. So is it not better that they do believe in God and therefore ACT good? Is that not a net good?

@mojavvescribe @stillundone @isaiah_bb @ExileGrimm You are not pledging allegiance to a party or to a policy. You are pledging to the flag and its symbolism of freedom, justice, and the pursuit of a more perfect union. You can despise the actions of America and still be a patriot.

@justenholstein @stillundone @isaiah_bb @ExileGrimm Empathy to who? And why? Empathy is not a basis for morality because you could be empathic to the Nazis depending on when and where you lived.

@chras0903 @stillundone @isaiah_bb @ExileGrimm I don’t disagree with much of that but it was a combination of enlightenment values (which had biblical origin) and the Hellenistic tradition.

@sanguineblood @stillundone @isaiah_bb @ExileGrimm If God sends me to hell for pledging to the US flag and its ideals while still being devoted to Him and living righteously then perhaps he is the devil instead and is no Just Lord.

@sanguineblood @stillundone @isaiah_bb @ExileGrimm That’s a shockingly bad literary analysis. Under God is THE defining phrase in the verses that describe the moral order. It’s directly claiming God is above all.

@sanguineblood @stillundone @isaiah_bb @ExileGrimm The pledge specifically says “under God”. The Golden Bull was not under God but a God in and of itself. You do not worship the flag, you do not pray to it, you do not look to the flag for moral and spiritual guidance. That IS how the Golden Bull was worshiped.

@sanguineblood @stillundone @isaiah_bb @ExileGrimm They are not mutually exclusive, but they should be morally ordered. That’s why the pledge of allegiance specifies “under God”. God is the primary, with the state being the social order that should be structured in accordance with Godly morality. “In God We Trust”.
