We are happy to report that all flood waters have receded. The only area that remains closed to traffic at this time is the Glen Falls neighbourhood. Crews are working in the area to clear the ice and apply salt and sand for safe passage. It is expected to reopen this afternoon.

Lily Lake ice surface remains closed for skating and other recreational use. Ice thickness needs to measure at least 12 inches to be safe. City crews continue to monitor the ice and will advise the public when the ice surface is safe to open.
We'd like to give a shout-out to our parks and City landscape employees. They do such a lovely job with the flowerbeds to help beautify our City streets and landscapes.

Road and sidewalk conditions are extremely icy and there are a number of abandoned vehicles across the City. Motorists are asked to stay off the roads if possible, and avoid all flooded areas.
Crews are working to salt/sand priority 1 streets and will work in sequence from there.
The future of green transportation in the City of Saint John took a big step today as the first full-sized, fully electric bus was officially put into regular service. 🚌🔌

Fire crews responded to a call for help after a kite surfer capsized on Loch Lomond Lake this evening.
After locating the man in the water near the middle of the lake, a boat was deployed & firefighters assisted him safely to shore before dark. He is now reunited with his family
Update: The Canadian Tire Jumpstart playground at Rainbow Park in the City's South End has been repaired. City crews took advantage of the beautiful weather this week to make the repairs. All areas of the playground are open for the community to enjoy.

Did you know? Prior to winter storms, City crews prepare our roads with an anti-icing brine. The use of liquid anti-icing brine is a proactive and proven way of combating ice from forming on the pavement surface.
Development activity is booming across Saint John! Everywhere we look, projects are underway. The One Stop Development Shop had a record month in March with 51 permit applications, a total project value of $3.6 million. Things are looking up, and we're growing Saint John!

The Saint John Fire Department along with the KV Fire department and Fredericton Fire Department underwent Off Road Rescue Instructor training last week in Rockwood Park. Thank you to all the firefighters for dedicating time to being trained and keeping our communities safe.
49 new Canadians from 16 countries took an Oath of Citizenship today. The City was a proud co-sponsor of the ceremony and we were thrilled to participate and stand alongside our newest Canadians and members of our community.
