Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2024 Launching Tomorrow at 6:01 CET! Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), the Nigeria Chapter of Transparency International, is set for the release of the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2024 tomorrow at 6:01 CET! The CPI ranks 180 countries based on perceived corruption in the public sector, using a scale from 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean). Over two-thirds of countries score below 50, highlighting the urgent need for stronger anti-corruption measures worldwide. In 2023, Nigeria scored 25/100, ranking 145th out of 180 countries, showing slight progress from 2022 (24/100, Rank 150). Sub-Saharan Africa remains the lowest-scoring region with an average of 33/100. This year’s CPI also warns that corruption undermines global efforts to combat the climate crisis.
