I had an amazing time at my first writing conference. I met so many wonderful people. Here are my 2 big takeaways:
1) Literary agents are normal people just like us. I had the loveliest conversation with an agent.
2) Be yourself. You're pitching yourself as much as your MS.

Father's Day is always filled with a mix of emotions for me. I love my dad.
But today is also a stark reminder that I was never able to make my husband a father.
I'll never forget the joy on his face with every positive pregnancy test, nor the devastation when I miscarried.

One of mine is when people refer to any race distance as a marathon. A marathon is 26.2 miles. A 5K is 3.1. Still something to celebrate, but it's not a marathon. Please stop calling your 5K a marathon.
