To start, I agree; it has been a while. Some thought #TheBalcony had closed, but here we are. I have a few spare minutes to write. It’s been long since our last exchange, so brace for a long read. So, lets go…. @kigoowaparish

#FactCheck. This priest was the first Ugandan preist to be ordained by Pope Leo XIV. He was not the first ever ordained by a pope. For example, the current Bishop of Fort Portal was ordained by Pope John Paul II.
What began as a whisper of calling in Kyotera has now become a song of faith sung on the world’s largest stage. #MonitorUpdates

What inspired @DPSecretariat1's first party logo? It was taken directly from Ben Kiwanuka’s prayer book. The DP’s principal logo featured the sun, whose light was depicted as blanketing a map of Uganda. In the centre of the sun, the letters ‘T’ and ‘J’ were placed, representing

This took me back to Kassanda Ebola survivors I talked to a few months ago, and they shared the significant mental health challenges they faced due to their hospital experiences, discrimination, and similar issues.
Tomorrow, my newsletter will look at a study published in PLOS Mental Health that found #Ebola survivors of #Uganda’s 2022 outbreak face a second epidemic: psychological trauma, stigma, and neglect. https://t.co/7aModV8nnt

Opposition's chaos helps NRM! Fielding rival candidates in friendly seats splits votes, while NRM runs unopposed elsewhere. One @NUP_Ug MP called an opposition seat "empty"! They don’t realize that one way to oppose Museveni can be denying him a parliamentary majority.
Opposition held constituencies have the biggest number of opposition candidates wanting to replace them. They risk losing the positions all to NRM. In the last electoral cycle, 50 aspirants majority of whom were opposition lost to the NRM or Independents with votes less than 500!

@chriskisekka1, I've read your letter and find it funny in its own way, while also hitting straight to the most pressing problems of society today. You've reminded me of the late Tamale Mirundi, who in one of his commentaries said, 'What will solve this issue is witchcraft!' 🧙

An illustration of the flag used by both Bassekabaka Muteesa I ne Mwanga II @BugandaKingdom_ . The flag was approximately 12ft square. The colour of the background of the flag was red, four years before the creation of Zanzibar’s red flag. A large shield was sewn on the left

#Uganda’s education system is haunted! Ghost schools, ghost learners, and ghost teachers are draining our already stretched resources like a bad horror movie. But wait, have we checked the VIP section of this ghost party? Where are the ghost parents? #UgandaEducation

Oops! That’s a decimal point gone rogue! The truth? It’s just 2.7% of GDP in 2021, trailing East Africa’s 4.2% average and the global 4.0% benchmark. See, in math, a tiny decimal point can turn a budget into a blockbuster or not! @DailyMonitor
