Today we lost a great one. @bobbycaldwell, the fedora-clad crooner behind scorching R&B classics like “What You Won’t Do For Love” and “My Flame” passed away today after a long health battle, as announced by his wife Mary on Twitter. He was 71.

Got your “Boogie Shoes” ready for tomorrow? 👞 👞 Nothing like @kcandsunshineb to lift the spirits. This 1975 track from their self titled second LP made its way into the “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack, reaching number 35 on @billboard when it was released as a single.

The house that built the ‘Fever’ This is the Château d'Hérouville, a French residence built in 1740 painted by Vincent Van Gogh and a former home of Frédéric Chopin. It was at the Château where @BeeGees wrote the songs that ended up on the soundtrack to “Saturday Night Fever.”

We’re saddened to hear about the passing of one of the greatest producers and songwriters that ever was, and a co-architect of the Philly Soul sound: the legendary Thom Bell. Bell was 79. 🕊️

Did you know that @IAMOBRYAN made two versions of the “Lovelite” video? There's both a clean one and a “Rated R” version intended for broadcast on the fledgling Playboy Channel. The singer feels the racy clip sent the wrong idea about the kind of performer he was at that time.

IT’S SATURDAY! ☀️ and you know what that meant back in the day… it was @soultrain time! @IAMOBRYAN's “Soul Train’s A Comin’” became the intro theme for “the hippest trip in America” between the years of 1983 and 1987. Is this your favorite Soul Train intro theme?

@IAMOBRYAN on the different musical styles that informed his 1982 single “The Gigolo”: “There was something called punk-rock at that time. You’d hear Kraftwerk doing all that ‘uno, dos, tres, cuatro’, and those were the things I was trying to bring to bear on ‘The Gigolo’.”
