Pilot, co-host of the In The Pattern Podcast, owner of a Piper Turbo Arrow III. I love God, family, America. IT pays the bills, side hustle pays for flying!
A plane experienced a loss of power while flying over some mountains in Italy a couple of days ago.
The 22 year old aviatrix managed to put it safely down and all three occupants were unharmed.
She performed an incredible mountain landing.
Bravo Zulu on a amazing landing!

The amazingly tight flight envelope of the U2 at 70000ft 96kts you're in the stall buffet, 111kts you're in the transonic buffet certainly would keeps you on your toes controlling your airspeed.
For sale Cessna 182 with recent custom paint. Slight damage from hard landing. Engine was off during strike so should be good to go. Prop might need a lookover though.
Will follow up with more pics. Serious inquiries only. I know what I have so dont try to lowball!
Well that was terrible! But a pass is a pass I guess. I scored an 80% so many questions I never even seen before I wasn't confident I was going to pass it all
Wow I just saw that my CFI for my private pilot, Jackie Whitford was on the 421 that crashed a couple days ago. 😢😭😩 It was her and the owner flying during the maintenance test flight. RIP Jackie you will be missed.
1979 Piper Aerostar 601P pressurized, turbocharged, a/c $159,900. One of the planes on my short list if I ever thought I could afford the maintenance but what honestly sold me is in the panel. :-)

The GE90 engine under the wing of a Boeing 777 is larger in cross section than the main body and cabin of the Boeing 737. There, you're welcome. Your whole day wont be a waste now. You have learned something. :-) Maybe not something useful but still interesting.

I'm a 1000ft marker guy for landings how about you? How many on the numbers pilots do we have? Depends on where you turn off is? Bonus points... How many feet wide is that runway in the pic?
The question is. At what point would you execute the missed approach for the LNAV approach at DSM?
I know the correct answer is RW05 but it's messing with my head because it shows starting the missed approach a little before it. Can someone shed light on that for me?
10.9 hours logged today coming back from OSH. 1 fuel stop in KS. 4.8 from OSH to KAAO and the 6.1 from KAAO to KDVT

lots of IFR and was at 15 or 17k ft most of the way back.
Last day of IFR written test training. I feel ready to take the test. Might sign up and do it tomorrow if when I get home and take a few practice tests and they go well.
Knocked out my biannual flight review today. Class 3 medical done last month so I am good to go for 2 more years. Now to go watch my Chiefs win another Superbowl!

Picked up some business class seats from a DC-9 locally from someone on Facebook Marketplace for $50ea :-) The table trays all work so nice little place for debriefs and catching up the log book after a flight. :-)

Here we were at 11,500 heading back to DVT from AVX Catalina with Keith in formation chewing on my wing and he says when we get back come over to the hangar and Ryan who is in his plane will Air Drop the photos and videos too you. To which I said just send them now. :-)
A year of plane owhership in the books! Well, 13 months technically. My first flight in it was Nov 8th 2022. I did 94.8 hours in her the first 12 months and am at 111.6 total now. Prior to that, I dont think I did more than about 35 hours when I was renting.

Zip ties around the props on this EMB120. For the DE-ICE boot wires most likely but you would think there would be a better solution to this. Anyone know if that's what they are for and why?
Changing from regular size iPad to the iPad mini and adding the pencil for flying. The actual screen size is not all that different because the black bezel of the 10" iPad is so big. I will like the space and view it frees up on the yoke.

Always my favorite giving someone their first flight in a small plane and giving them controls. I work with Ben in the back seat and up front is Liam 12yrs old and they both now want to get their pilots license :-) Mission accomplished!

Seized turbo is the issue with our Turbo Arrow III :-( We have a engine on order with Western Skyways but we wont have it for at least 2 months. Checking to see if we can get a loaner turbo from them for now.
