This only works imo if the adult can be responsible enough to keep the relationship surface level. Which let's be so real, 9 times out of 10 they don't. There ain't no good reason for someone in like their 20s to wanna hang out with specifically a 14 yr old all the time.
"adults shouldn't be friends with minors" friendships have clearly established boundaries and having older friends is healthy and safe for minors, a lot of my older friends convinced me to get out of toxic relationships, they aren't predators
