Thanks to the amazing work done by @CorelliumHQ’s team it is now possible to run Android on iPhone natively on the just released #checkra1n 0.9.8.1. Go try it out!!.
Introducing Project Sandcastle: Android for the iPhone. We’re excited to see what the developer community builds from this foundation. We’d particularly like to thank the team behind Checkra1n and PongoOS for their support and assistance.

#checkra1n is proud to have given people a place where people can tinker, play and really get access to the bare metal on A7 to A11 ;).
Tim Millet, VP of Platform Architecture at Apple (silicon team):. « now we have a place where people can tinker, and play, and really get access to the bare metal and do interesting things with the platform. » . (part of the interview at about arm64 macs).

and, on M1, we’ll be providing our low-level custom second-stage bootloader/kernel for an even smoother tinkering around with the bare metal!.
So how will you boot third-party operating systems on arm64 Macs?. You might have seen that pongoOS has been getting a ton of work in the recent past, and even more is coming. This work will allow us to support pongoOS as a second-stage bootloader for Apple Silicon-based Macs.

@F2P_Gamer Rest assured that the two efforts are being led by different groups, so they are being worked on concurrently.

@JuanRod2712 distinct teams are working on distinct things, although of course when we have things sorted out the people working on stability improvements will start helping the ones currently working on Windows and Linux, it will move faster.

@winlogon0 SecureROM detects wether a USB cable is connected or not in order to decide wether to respect the key combinations or not. It does so by checking a voltage that we suspect is incorrect.

@rodrisancheez_ this is a uicache issue - you can ssh into your phone and run uicache --app /var/binpack/Applications/loader.app a couple times to fix it.

@Voicu_Catalin @jamiebishop123 13.3 is still beta thus we consider it unsupported, even though most reports say it works perfectly fine. If you want to try your luck, you can enter recovery mode and run checkra1n from there, which skips version checks.

@turbineBMW we had pushed a fix for this but it turned out to only work on some versions, so we will be reintroducing it in a later update.

@PosersAt take a backup and restore it from iTunes (Finder on Catalina), restore backup and jailbreak. Your system might be in an inconsistent state.

@ArielDu45997163 @Pwn20wnd The iPhone 5S is a partially supported device. It is known to take several attempts to run successfully.

@DTR4K you don't have to get it perfectly right, although we might add some extra delay at the beginning for preparation if this is a common concern.

@Skittyblock it's possible that you're not leaking, but simply using more than jetsam lets you. we could add an option to make jetsam looser, but not sure how to do it in a way that doesn't interfere with the system negatively.

@IgorZMitrovic 0.9.3 is a old release, and the cable issue has nothing to do with checkra1n versions.

@Rbonelli1 can't do it from DFU anymore; we think the "next" not clickable bug is a UI glitch, we will try to fix it.

@userlandkernel @jamiebishop123 @qwertyoruiopz it's a known issue with iPad 6. we don't currently have such a device to test on but we will in the next couple of days.

@KorfiDiscord yes, the update is seamless and does not interfere with the state of the device other than updating the jailbreak itself in a safe way.

@userlandkernel @jamiebishop123 @qwertyoruiopz this is a shot-in-the-dark kinda statement right here and well, no, not really.

@sph1nx2 yes - this is a known physical problem with those cables, and there's nothing we can do about it.

@iiFir3z @jamieuk07 we'd like to avoid people to run checkra1n on 13.3 as it's not officially supported, so we probably won't.

@schokojote yes - the iPad 6th gen seems to currently have a known issue - we are working on it.

@RafaelTogami are you holding the volume down for too long? you should release it as soon as checkra1n starts doing exploitation.

@shadow3vil @winlogon0 only some specific kinds of cables are affected, and it appears the ones shipped with iPhone 11 are particularly likely to be problematic.

@Itsyab0y04 @astr0c0de entering DFU on your own is problematic as you are entering unclean DFU, while the new procedures does so cleanly.

@GuideHardware @DTR4K Are you using the procedure in the latest update? The on-screen instructions should work reliably on the iPhone X, way better than any other way.

@waliid1997 @GuideHardware @DTR4K Please try with the latest version, the new instructions are much simpler and should work reliably.

@jamieuk07 @iiFir3z you should not do that since it is known to cause hardware issues, please start from recovery. using the latest version's changes, it should be a smooth and easy process.

@sebastian_rasch That functionality has been purposefully removed since it turns out it will cause a lot of issues. You need to follow the in-app tutorial.
