The right decision. FT line you must be behind for a FT or it doesn’t count. 3 point line…same, except it counts for 2 instead of 3. There’s nothing like that for half court. Make it from half court, ya made a half court shot—no foot on the line thing there. Right to pay the man
UMass will pay student who made half-court $10,000 after insurance company said his foot was on line

Yeah, a single Pro Bowl can be questionable, but at scale, far less so…you make 7 in 12 years or whatever—or are an uber-exclusive All-Pro for a 1/4 or 1/3 or 1/2 of the many years you played (or similar)? The vote already happened. There doesn’t need to be another vote. Particularly when the HOF is full of guys below that standard.

IMO that presumes shame & negative attention & accountability would motivate some people to do the right thing. IME shameless is now a feature, not a bug…any attention all the same for those types. So I’m not convinced that would change much. I’d rather just see a charter of sorts written that creates an objective standard that takes it out of voters’ hands for those most obvious cases—some % of years played as an All-Pro or Pro Bowler beyond some minimum standard, or place within some position-specific metric, boom, you’re in. Decision is out of the individual agenda voters’ hands. Opinions irrelevant. The resume is it. For the more fringe or debatable cases, yeah, we’re probably stuck with what we have now. But screwing around with the more obvious HOF resumes on which year this group “allows” them in? All bullshit. Power they don’t deserve, it’s not about them.

@Baconpwn @cochise269 Plus the whole “better football player” is some imagined subjective standard that has nothing to do with how all these players—of all disparate positions—are or should ever be judged. That makes no sense to inject that into the conversation. Irrelevant.

It’s a QB award. Barkley coulda ran for 3000, they’re still gonna vote for the QB. IMO, they just need to drop the pretense & go “best” or “most valuable” at each position—stop w/ this game of ranking positional value performance. If that’s what it is to them, cool. Then it’s just a QB competition
