// Hello! I'm Charmi :3 // I'm a Game Dev, Teacher, Artist // Developing "Bukki's Playschool" (SFW account!!!)

This opens up obsessive questions like: - Which way should the doors be placed in each room? - If it opens outward, how will the player collide with the door? - If it only opens inward, what's the point of modelling the other side? 😵💫 i guess it should be random but still ughh
I have a bad habit of worrying about silly details Such as this door having two different sides for push and pull... 🙃 Even the hinges are placed "realistically" 😔 #gamedev #indiegame #blender3d #modeling

@noinodev @Phantom_TheGame I feel like this is obvious but I guess not for everyone. At the same time, if you need to ship a product fast, you won't have time to study things in-depth regardless.

@TemperGame @jnvcia I really think you get paid per post or something idk so I'll stop responding

@TemperGame @jnvcia No, not really. If I did make a game engine I wouldn't change my opinion since I actually like doing things like that, so not sure what experience would help me understand your position. Clearly you just do not understand what context I'm operating from.

@TemperGame @jnvcia What evidence do I need when I'm being told that doing 2 things is better than 1? You're the one making a hard to comprehend claim, you should be the one to provide hard numbers to give faith to people, otherwise no one will listen to you. Notch started this useless debate.

@TemperGame @jnvcia I'm not moving the goal posts any more than everyone else is. Notch's original post is dumb and provocative. What does "it makes for more interesting games" mean? It's all just anecdotal garbage. Once you come back with hard numbers maybe this will matter (show me ur revenue).

@jnvcia I read all your messages. We just fundamentally have different ideas. The idea that you and notch hold just isn't relevant to my context and that's all. And I dont think it's relevant to most game developers either, only to the ones who are serious, but those know this already.

@jnvcia Well I guess that's it then, the entire conversation was always about "simple" game engines, not game engines in general. I could ask how you'd deal with the security vulnerabilities of user-made content, or how you'd deal with cheats in multiplayer and etc but it doesn't matter

@jnvcia It is impossible for most people because it is something you have to ENJOY DOING. To enjoy tinkering with things on a fundamental level. Most game developers aren't cut and dry programmers, many of them are just artists who use programming and game engines as a medium.
