This is exactly what the state wants when they use RICO. The goal is to coerce testimony out of desperate people by putting them in impossible situations of loosing their freedom and or all their assets trying to defend bogus charges, or agreeing to say whatever the State wants.
Sledge says that he “forced himself” to sign the plea bc his mother was sick and he couldn’t afford his lawyer to go to trial. Love snarkily responds “Couldn’t you afford to have your lawyer correct the plea?”. “That specific day, I was just tryna go home to my sick mother”

We were accused of leaking this. The judge at the time threatened us. And zero consequences for what seems to have been state action.
Woody is also heard talking about the leaked 2021 interrogation footage. Today, he testifies he believes the State is the one who leaked it in order to pretty much force him to testify since everyone thinks he's a snitch anyway.

If we miss a deadline it’s ignored and clients only recourse is a Habeas based on ineffective assistance 🖕🏽.

@ASFleischman they do that every day. Prosecutors are disgusting. It’s not just on high profile cases. they’ll come to us with a probation offer at arraignment, but oppose a consent bond to give us a chance to review discovery & present the offer to our clients for an intelligent decision.
