✨ Excited to share Propea, a project I've poured months into! The client, a seasoned 20+ year construction company, needed a complete brand strategy for their new real estate venture. They had the vision but trusted me to bring it to life. From naming to visual identity, Propea embodies warmth, trust, and professionalism, welcoming you to your dream home with open arms. 🏡💛 Grateful for this journey and proud of the result! #BrandDesign #RealEstateBranding

It happened to me: a designer's worst nightmare. 3 months ago, I signed my first recurring client after years of project-based work. I was thrilled! They asked to split the monthly payment into weekly payments for the first 3 months due to cash flow issues. I agreed, though the contract clearly stated it was a monthly agreement. The project was ambitious: a complete rebrand and application to their platform by November. I warned them I’d work at my own pace to keep quality high, and they agreed, saying they admired my work. But soon they pressured me weekly to go faster, skip steps, and release resources early. I prioritized them, thinking this could be a long-term client. I worked hard, making countless exceptions. Then, in the first week of a new month, they suddenly told me they’d passed my work to another agency “to speed things up.” They stopped paying and ghosted me. I reached out repeatedly, reminding them that by contract, they couldn't use my work without full payment. They ignored me. My lawyer sent a notice, which they read but didn’t reply to. Meanwhile, they’re already using my branding on their website, background calls, and social media. How can someone appreciate my work enough to use it, yet refuse to pay? How can they ignore someone who worked day and night for them over months? How can two entrepreneurs be so despicable, ghosting another entrepreneur and refusing to pay, fully aware they’re taking advantage of me? I just can’t believe a company that claims “people come first” would exploit a freelancer (or anyone) like this. What would you do in this situation?

In just one week, we’ll be saying goodbye to this beautiful island. After three years of low-key but constant stress, I finally learned how to set boundaries. As a digital nomad who has lived in places like the Philippines and Thailand, I’ve always found the balance leaning either toward too much work or too much free time. But here in Floripa, for the first time, I’ve truly achieved that perfect split: 100% present and enjoying weekends, and 100% focused on work during the week. Thank you, Floripa, for giving me the beautiful space to find my balance. 🙏🏼 Now, let’s hope changing countries doesn’t mean losing this balance. 🤞🏽

I've been avoiding X for weeks now, and I just realized why. As much as I love the entrepreneurial community here, every time I log in, it feels like everyone's story is about instant success. People hitting $10k in their first month. It makes me feel… off. I've been building my business for 3 years, and it’s been a rollercoaster full of challenges. Despite the struggles, I’m grateful. I get to live where I want and do what I love. Still, not every entrepreneurial journey is an overnight success. For me, it's about consistent effort, patience, learning from failures, and knowing it all takes time (I'm on my way, though!). Anyone else out there whose path isn't all shiny and bright? 👀

How amazing is @BankMercury ? 😍 They invited us to our breakfast! 🥐✨ Such a creative move... Totally nailed the loyalty strategy! I'm hooked. (And we love tea too). 💕

Thanks for your recommendation! I’m going to focus on guiding them with consistent proposals and clear explanations, showing how the designs work through mockups. I’ll also give them time to adapt to each proposal before letting them make a decision. I realize the issue may have been presenting too many proposals back-to-back, without giving them enough time to really process and adapt to what I was showing. With this new proposal, I’m going to allow more time before assuming any rejection (if it comes to that). But fingers crossed they like it this time!

@BrettFromDJ It usually takes me 30 minutes just to sit down, read, and really understand the client. Then another 30 minutes for brainstorming and inspiration. After that, it's hours of designing, especially when it's a branding project. Either you're on another level, or I'm just slow! 😅

@twoheadscrew Absolutely! As their designer, I always make sure to give them my honest opinion, even if it's not what they want to hear. The issue this time is specifically with the shape of the logomark. 🥲

Yes, I just recorded a video explanation for the last proposal to make sure I explain everything clearly and support the new concept with words. I also believe that how we present proposals can be a game changer. A strong proposal poorly presented can lead to rejection, while a less polished one presented well can get approved. Fingers crossed this one hits the mark! Thanks for the support!

I completely agree! I also felt the need to offer a solution that made both parties comfortable. This was the first time it ever happened to me, so I was upfront with the client and explained I was navigating it for the first time too. I decided to give them another opportunity for free, but made it clear that it’s not my responsibility to know every logo out there, especially in different markets. Like you, I also offer only one concept. In my experience, offering too many options leads to indecision. I ensure that single concept is well thought out and consistent. However, I ended up having 3 proposals rejected. I think the issue is that they’re comparing everything to the previous logo, which makes it hard for them to embrace a new design.

Imagine if the only challenge at work was focusing on tasks. But being a woman in business also means managing the ups and downs of hormones. Every. Single. Month. We show up, lead, and thrive, but there’s often an unseen battle inside. First day of my period and here I am, navigating cramps, hormones, work, and clients. No wonder we've mastered multitasking. 😅
