@takeflightwnba @CC22_4_mvp My personal hope is that this year’s versions of Tash Howard and NaLyssa Smith both kick the ass out of last year’s versions in every way - they both struck me as classic “change of scenery” candidates, and that way everyone wins!

Because in comparison to what they are replacing they are huge upgrades, especially in the playstyle the team wants to play. Howard may not play at her DPOY peak but she is still a clear upgrade over Smith, and offensively she runs the floor well which Smith does not do. Bonner is going to be exactly what we need her to be. Considering the entire team will be reset next year and considering the FAs out there it’s tough to imagine an offseason better for us. The entire organization is on the same page in terms of playstyle and tendencies. The focus of the team is, and always will be, CC, AB, and KM.

We’re not looking for prime Bonner, we’re looking for a Bonner who can be a problem defensively and who can be a 4th option. She started the all star game last year - I’d say she’s more than sufficient. As far as Howard is concerned, the ONLY thing we need her to do is catch CC’s lobs - despite any other deficiency she may have, she can still do that at a high level. Frankly, it seemed pretty obvious that Howard was completely disinterested and disengaged last year from what I saw - seems like things may be different this year. And absent all of this, the hiring of Steph White is a clear, massive, incredible upgrade from Sides in every way. I wish you and the Wings well next year, and especially NaLyssa, who I will always root for, but if you think the Fever are anything less than a top 3 team as currently constituted, I’m afraid I just disagree.
