@edogoesboating So sad. I had no idea who he was when I stumbled into Flowers of Shanghai at doc films and it was just totally transformative.

@iycrtylph @adamkotsko Lol exact same thing happened to me! I got curious what would happen if I tried to pull open the door while it was moving... it took two hours to get out.

@genese_grill Objectivity, as others have said, is def the go to. Daston’s edited volume on scientific observation is also worth a look. Both Crary’s Techniques of the Observer and Shapin&Schaffer’s Leviathan and the Air Pump are also a lot of fun

@brandonalm85 lol! And to add insult to injury, Aquatic Life is so much less fun/funny/interesting than Malle’s insane doc about Cousteau,”Silent World”

@williamcurrey @jess_sequeira I’d suggest Marriage of Cadmus and Harmony, or Ka.

@nickfleisher There's a Laotian food cart in front of the university library that has these spectacular, giant burrito-size summer rolls for four bucks. Truly one of the greatest things I've ever experienced.

Just saw Jordan Lord's Shared Resources at @MoMAFilm. What a brilliant and devastating portrait of the entanglement of intimacy and capitalism. A wonderful, study, too, of the documentary form. It'll also be playing in a few weeks at @thedocyard. Def worth watching.
