@JanetYatak2711 @Poppyjuice @LeilaniDowding Ok if you insist Any “medical expert” trying to claim that covid-19 did not cause many deaths is clearly trying to mislead you. (As an aside the Cambridge dictionary disagrees with you)

@JanetYatak2711 @Poppyjuice @LeilaniDowding Then I’m sure you will be happy to understand and use the correct terminology in the future. 👍

@JanetYatak2711 @Poppyjuice @LeilaniDowding This doesn’t change the fact you still don’t seem to understand that SARS-CoV-2 is the name of the virus and covid-19 is the name of the disease that virus causes. Similar to how chickenpox is the disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV)

@JanetYatak2711 @Poppyjuice @LeilaniDowding Just type “SARS-CoV-2” into any internet search engine of your choice and read what it says Janet.

@JanetYatak2711 @Poppyjuice @LeilaniDowding No. Eg someone has influenza A and then develops a secondary bacterial pneumonia and die their death certificate would read 1a bacterial pneumonia (organism listed if known) 1b Influenza A The cause of death is recorded as whatever is in the lowest line in part 1 (ie influenza)

@JanetYatak2711 @Poppyjuice @LeilaniDowding I’m not misleading you Janet, merely pointing out the facts that Covid-19 is the disease caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2. Why don’t you “do your own research” on these specific terms and come back to me if you still have questions

@JanetYatak2711 @Poppyjuice @LeilaniDowding You are choosing to argue this with 2 senior critical care clinicians that worked throughout the pandemic and know very well that Covid-19 can kill (one of which has literally provided the evidence from ICNARC of those that died from covid19 in critical care).

@JanetYatak2711 @Poppyjuice @LeilaniDowding The majority of MCCD (medical certificate of cause of death) in England are written by doctors

@JanetYatak2711 @Poppyjuice @LeilaniDowding The vast majority of death certificates are written by doctors in the UK. A coroner will only issue a death certificate when an inquest has been completed. Inquests happen in a small minority of deaths.

@JanetYatak2711 @Poppyjuice @LeilaniDowding Yes it was a coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 was the name of the virus Covid-19 was the name of the disease. These are the facts Many viruses (including SARS-CoV-2) can cause life threatening disease

@DrHirschfield @DrNeilStone Alpha variant was the 2nd wave (both in the UK & Florida) It has long been known that fluid overload in ARDS is detrimental (see 2006 FACTT trial in NEJM). I’m guessing you didn’t work in critical care during the pandemic?

@juneslater17 Do you ever do any basic research on a topic before posting about it? ADE is relevant to the specific disease/vaccine that it has been produced for, not “other infections” (as your screenshot shows). ADE has not been seen with the covid vaccines.

@BohemianAtmosp1 Testing for blood borne viruses has been common practice for certain ED attendances (eg if presenting with symptoms that could be due to infection) for many years now.

@FredShred2 @lukebussey @LeilaniDowding Surely a compassionate society would try and protect as many as possible especially those most vulnerable?
