@richard_tabor @briancoords @qarayahya @JosVelasco @pootlepress Do you think it is a non-issue that to apply a layout to a site, the user has to open each template individually and then apply it?

@richard_tabor @briancoords @qarayahya @JosVelasco @pootlepress Rich if you want me to understand the point you are trying to make I need the message to be clearer.

@briancoords @qarayahya @JosVelasco @pootlepress But the tldr is that it is good that the default theme can be used for different types of sites. I keep seeing questions about why the default is a blog. It is because Matt requested it.

@briancoords @qarayahya @JosVelasco @pootlepress Without a quick way to set the same design to multiple templates, sites easily end up with different designs on different pages.

@JosVelasco @briancoords @pootlepress Yes thats what I mean when I try to say that the basic block templates could be in core, not necessarily in a bundled theme.

@qarayahya @briancoords @JosVelasco @pootlepress The theme has different designs. You are not adding a sidebar to the current template, you are selecting the "News blog with sidebar" design.

@briancoords I thought about it earlier today, but wasn't sure about taking over something Riad was close to finishing.

@tetsuaki_hamano For example. Spending 20 minutes searching past PR's to find conversations about if a block support control should be hidden or visible by default.
