Interesting study showing the increased importance of work-life balance since COVID - even over salary. Also interesting to note the high importance of job security, a major source of stress for early and mid career researchers.

Last paper for 2024 - editorial summarising a decade of research on "heart age", as context for a new analysis of heart age vs CVD risk with a huge NZ dataset. Key point: heart age is good for awareness, but not shared decision making.

Yes we're all sick of COVID-19 and most of us are living as if it doesn't exist; but it's still going regardless - these 2024 stats are pretty crazy: - total mortality 2% higher than predicted - COVID-19 mortality 70% higher than predicted - 5 COVID-19 deaths for every flu death

@nswaci @NAATSIHWP @Fuzor @RosemaryWyber The Finding Your Way resource is an amazing tool, it's been so great to work with that and adapt it to the CVD prevention space! Really positive feedback from the community. Now just need to get it to the health professionals!

I also think relying on assessors to judge whether the applicant applied at the right level is too subjective and will lead to uncertainty and less consistent outcomes - if you are a high achieving ECR one reviewer may sink your application if they think you should apply higher
