Oyo is a tribe , Ibadan is a city populated by oyo, Ijebu, ijesha, òwu and egbas which eventually created a new identity of its own. Ibadan grew with the new Oyo Atiba and ijaye Kurunmi so it wasn't part of the old Oyo empire.
