relating this to Eriksons theory of Psychodevelopment: stage 3 initiative v shame and guilt. In this stage kids want to start to do things on their own like tie their shoes, pick out their own outfits etc. and if allowed to the Child will develop a sense of autonomy and be way

more likely to take initiative. If restricted by parents who do everything for the child they are not able to develop this sense of self and can feel guilty and a fear of trying new things.
people arguing over whether i can “claim” to be black on a post about my first hand experience in an active shooter situation is CRAAAAzy. y’all really need to wipe the cum out of ur eyes and pay attention to the actual issue at hand. touch some grass.
@BroookeAmber
***my examples were more so examples for stage 2): stage 3 would more so be about being able to pick your friends or facing challenges. it’s about being a good rolemodel & redirecting so the child makes good choices on their own instead of being overbearing

overturning roe v wade is a direct violation of HIPAA AND the 14th amendment— women have no right to privacy not even in the most intimate settings. fucking sick.

no problem (: (this is actually a therapy technique that i myself have had) the easiest way to explain it is that when we When we experience trauma Sometimes Our brain doesn’t fully process the event. An error in the amygdala, prefrontal cortex or the hippocampus causes those

traumatic memories to be trapped in the right hemisphere of the brain which is where we feel emotion. EMDR therapy opens the channels in the right hemisphere so that we can fully process those emotions attached to the events that are trapped. Once fully processed the emotions

everyone will make it to the stage. Your upbringing will determine the mind set u have as a little one coming into this stage. The 2 stages before are based around trust & autonomy. If you succeed in stages 1&2 u enter stage 3 feeling as though the world is

one option would be starting sessions with a therapist who is licensed in EMDR therapy. EMDR can be used to help people recover from trauma, ptsd and panic disorders lmk if u wanna know more ab it (:

therapist can’t prescribe meds which means they work to actually help process your emotions with nonpharmalocgical techniques such as guided imagery and meditation
if taking the above excerpt into consideration. his mental health issues are not the sole reason for his violence. so that begs the question— why are we making excuses for behaviors that exist both on medication and off. his lack of medication compliance-

i like to think of it as the way that treats the root cause instead of treating symptomatically (: more of a holistic approach to mental health! No side effects and no artificial substances

I like to see a therapist instead of a psychologist in my experience most psychologists are less empathetic! the cool thing about EMDR is you don’t have to talk about your trauma because it has been proven to cause more trauma): best of luck 🤍
is not a factor. he was violent before detainment. in relation to this he should be REEVALUATED then the decision of prison vs involuntary commitment can be made.
In public perception, schizophrenia is often associated with violence. This view is reinforced each time there are media reports of violent acts by purported mentally ill persons… people with schizophrenia are MUCH more likely to be victims rather than perpetrators of violence
as a strong believer of rehabilitation not incarceration mental illness is not an excuse for violence he needs long term mandated psychiatric care possibly a long term injectable if he is med noncompliant there is a way to acknowledge mental health without turning a blind eye (1)

can move to the left hemisphere of the brain which is where we store information. They no longer will have those emotion attached to them (:
i don’t really give a fuck that it was a JUDGE. her verbal provocation was not a threat of bodily harm, she did not posture him, nor was she even close to arms length away. he was not in danger and provocation is in no way an excuse to aggressively beat an elderly woman.
i’m so sick of people debating on blackness. it’s always people in our own communities attempting to belittle biracial people and gate-keep blackness. then have the audacity to turn around wondering why our community is experiencing an internal war. y’all are fucking weird.
