The children have settled well into life here at St Joseph's College.

Tonight’s campfire was a success (we mostly avoided the rain!), some singing, some dancing and not forgetting the marshmallows! Mr AB was definitely the expert at marshmallow toasting.

The children have had their first day full of activities, fun and laughter with the excellent Xplore instructors. They also tucked into a full English breakfast this morning!

Today Year 3 have been carrying out an experiment to answer the question - Are some liquids heavier than others? The children found out that oil is lighter (less dense) than water.

We are so happy to finally receive these laptops today from the DFE. We are really looking forward to loaning these and the school laptops we have rebuilt, out to families, who have requested them, to help with their remote learning 👍😃👍

Sports Week got off to a great start today, with Y3 and Y4 taking part in a range of events (shot putt, long jump, vortex and hurdles). The winners of the long distance and sprint events competed in the finals before we finished off with the traditional relay race.

Rockets and quad bikes for Group 2!
The children made bottle rockets before firing them up(ish) into the air. Afterwards, came the quad biking - who knew we had so many 'petrol-heads' in Year 6!

The children thoroughly enjoyed watching Year 6 perform The Greatest Showman, this morning. Amazing singing, dancing, acting and lots of hidden talents.

Group 4 reach the for the sky!
Crate climbing was the first activity for group 4, who braved 'the wobble' and kept their nerves followed by a calmer, jewellery making session, which you can see them proudly wearing!

Sixteen children from KS2 represented Cann Hall in the Athletics Championship at the Garrison on Tuesday. We had so many great achievements during the day and overall were placed third out of the nine large schools and 6th out of eighteen schools.

This morning we held our Christingle service, where we performed festive hymns and reflected on the true meaning of Christmas, with Miss. Ward from St. John's Church. We made our own Christingles yesterday afternoon, and brought these with us today.

We have been very lucky to have had the Owl Company come and visit us at Cann Hall to help support our learning in Year Two. We watched the owls fly around the small hall and learned some fascinating facts. To top it all off, we all got to have our pictures taken with the owls!
