28 years ago in Denver I was launching the UFC. Later I would bring in Joe Rogan, Joe Silva, Bruce Beck and Jeff Blatnick but UFC 1 had Gracies and Shamrocks, Jim Brown, Brian Kilmeade,The Octagon and it was unlike anything anyone had ever seen before. The world changed that day.

In early UFC days we didn’t have round card girls because we didn’t have rounds. The women carried signs with the name of the fighters martial art. Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, Sumo etc. The women were called “ discipline girls”. Yikes.

I do get nostalgic around the anniversary of UFC 1. One of the coolest memories is when Mad Magazine made me the cartoon promoter in the UFC cover issue. I bought the original artwork and gifted Dana White one of the pages.
