@wessexwildlife Even with the damp and cold there are some amazing sights on the Plain at this time of year- 2 Barn Owl, a huge flock of Golden Plover, hundreds of Fieldfare, Cornbuntings, lots of Hares, Grey Partridge, and of course the Great Bustards were some of my favourites from yesterday.

@TimothyDaw Hi Tim, these aren't Great Bustards, they are Turkeys. We do currently have juveniles going through dispersal, and could turn up anywhere, so please do keep looking and reporting if you do see any.

@Kfordnature @kfordbirder Her behaviour is quite unusual, juveniles usually explore for a year and then come back and stay close to their release site for the rest of their lives, she only comes back to her release site at breeding time. We will be looking out for her again down here come the Spring!

Thanks to the trackers on some of the juvenile birds, over the last week we have seen flight speeds of up to 32mph,flights lasting around 45 minutes and one bird is following the contours of the land she is on. Drop us any Great Bustard sightings at enquiries@greatbustard.org.
