With respect, this is economically illiterate. No matter what you call your building—luxury, super luxury, super duper luxury—you can’t charge more than people are willing to pay. All else equal, adding units to the market can only lower prices.
@ckayerawlings In NYC the real estate boom has raised rents as most new constructions are luxury buildings which incentivize existing landlords to raise their rent to the new average.

Every four years or so, one party goes a bit further on muscling in or out judges than the other one went the last time around. So you can’t begrudge Ds if they do this. But at least when Rs do it they put extremely talented people on the bench.
