My place of birth is Ärentuna, the parish which includes Storvreta where I grew up. My mom went to church here as a kid. Family have been baptised and married and await the resurrection in the cemetery. Some pics of the medieval church:

Fun fact: the brothers first came to Sigtuna because St Dominic met a parish priest from there in Rome. Archbishop of Uppsala was against the project so they went to Lund.

In Sweden this summer I found this medallion I received as a child from a pious freechurch silversmith.
Will put it on my habit rosary on the day of my solemn profession in the Order of Preachers, Sept 3.
That day I will also return to my baptismal name Benjamin. Jesus lever!

Delighted to hear that Bl Pier-Giorgio Frassati (a Dominican tertiary) will be canonised in 2025. He loved life and was deeply committed to the sick and poor. He was a man of prayer, an opponent of communism and fascism, a terrible singer, an academic failure, and a loyal friend.
