Our archive searchroom is now closed until Tuesday 4 February whilst we undertake our annual stocktaking closure.

A reminder that we will be closed for our annual stocktaking fortnight between 20 and 31 January 2025. Our searchroom will close at 4.30pm on Friday 17 January and re-open at 9.30am on Tuesday 4 February.

We'll be opening a little later than usual tomorrow (7 January) - at 10am rather than 9.30am.

This is a huge volume of building plans. Penny coin for scale! This volume is one of over 300 similar volumes which together contain plans for approximately 40,000 Bristol buildings between 1851 & 1948 The plans show how buildings connected to water & sewerage systems #EYAHuge
