My Journey Our youngest boy faced a life-threatening struggle with diabetes, severe enough to require surgery. When I met Jenny, her boys were 11 and 14. The boys' biological father died unexpectedly when they were 2 and 4 years old. But I knew exactly what to do—run a Family Meeting—because, in my own family, we ran family meetings, a practice I invented when I was 6 years old. Through our Family Meeting Framework with our youngest, the weight started to come off and he lost 30 lbs and overcame his diabetes. Seeing the joy and relief on my wife's face was priceless. But it didn't stop there... We continued to have family meetings, addressing any issues that arose. Our oldest had a problem with his grades, and the Family Meeting Framework fixed that too, boosting his GPA from 3.2 to 4.0. My wife also noticed that technology was seemingly driving our two boys apart; they were not connecting as much. We created a method to help our boys stay close together, and ultimately the framework has kept us all together. Is our life perfect? No. But does it seem to at times run like a well-oiled machine? Yes, and for some, that is success. We used no medication, no therapy, just a specific framework for holding family meetings. As people noticed the positive changes in our boys, they began asking, "What are you doing?" And this is how the Family Meeting Course was born. Most families leave their meetings without follow-up. For us, it’s the key. Our oldest started asking deeper philosophical questions after our follow-ups. What do you do after your family meetings?

@chamath A lot of marketing. And less game. Why college football is the way to go.

@TheDarkTrumpet @elonmusk Hi David. Thanks for your tweet. If 36 trillion is a whole pie (or Earth), and 50 billion is 1/720th of it, then 50 billion would be more like a grain of sand. BRB meeting.

@jasonfried Follow your own advice “If you’re not sure what to do with it, do nothing. Let it sit. If something meaningful emerges, you’ll know. If not, no harm in leaving it alone.”
