RTs no indicator of endorsement, opinions my own, especially the good ones
I’ve come to the end of my time as
#bcfc
reporter for BirminghamLive, as I take on a new role. It started with a 1-0 win away at Rotherham in 2014 & ended yesterday with pleasing symmetry. It’s been a privilege to follow Blues for so long. Keep Right On Bluenoses. I know I will.
Good morning. And a happy Christmas. To those who have stuck with it, huge respect. To those who fell by the wayside, welcome back. Let's hope the future is as bright as
#bcfc
deserve it to be.
Just writing up a Hannibal interview which ended thus.....
HM: "I am trying to gain weight, we work on this outside of the pitch."
BD: "I can help you gain weight."
HM: "Yeah? But not [nods at me] THIS weight."

MSJ: "If and when the restrictions are lifted, it will be great to play in front of our home fans at St Andrew’s.
"I heard Keep Right On when I’ve been in the tunnel. I’ve not been here when fans sing it. I am waiting for that day because it will be amazing."

🙏
Heading back now. To the thousands who have travelled the length and breadth of the country this season - and paid for the privilege - I applaud you. 👏 👏

Two months ago the mere thought of playing without Laird and Buchanan was chilling. Now Drameh and Longelo look tough to dislodge. Fantastic work by both players & coaches.
You can say same for a few of them tho, Sunjic, Long, Sanderson, even Juke. They've all got better
#BCFC
Those ticket prices for the Stoke game smack of opportunism and knowing
#bcfc
fans will be desperate to come back AND welcome Lee Bowyer. Classifying it as a Cat A match is a bit naughty. Especially for a club used to being on the right side of the price debate.
Jude will get the plaudits - and rightly so, he looked at home at this level from the first moment he came on. However, it was Dan Crowley who inspired Blues when he came on. A much needed three points that helps manage the pressure.

Given the way things were torn up last summer, manager, captain, leading scorer, record signing all leaving, to have kept
#bcfc
clear of trouble with so little goal power in the side has been a pretty decent effort in my view.
Hats off to Camp today who had to play well for a team that looked absolutely shattered.
Also impressed with clinical way in which Che Adams took his only chance.
Sheff Wed looked a far better side than at St Ans in October.
Unbeaten festive period, a job really well done
#bcfc
Thought everyone put in a real shift tonight but props to Bela for playing the way he did, where he did. GG didn't stop and Max was superb. As were the three CBs.
#bcfc
Job not done yet but if, on July 30, you’d offered me 16th and nine points clear of the bottom 3 by April 1, I’d have checked the date and bitten your hand off. Not perfect but commendable nonetheless.
#bcfc
Say what you like about
@TomBrady
knowledge of football - but as an NFL player he knows exactly what a good culture looks like. Team-mates backing each other up was classic Patriots.
Lots of credit to Garry Monk, all of his coaching staff and the
#bcfc
players who have conducted themselves and represented the club excellently this season.
#KRO
On a positive note, Troy Deeney's 35 minute press conference was something to behold.
#bcfc
have a real livewire here. He's going to rattle a few cages.
I am starting to feel decidedly optimistic about this
#bcfc
team. I know it’s only two games and they haven’t scored from open play yet (two huge caveats) but spine of the team is solid, intelligent & experienced. For once scope for improvement is exciting rather than daunting.
“𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿.” 💛
In an emotional and heartfelt message, Troy Deeney addresses supporters as his 11-year spell at Vicarage Road comes to an end...
Absolutely outstanding, organised and resolute display from
#bcfc
today - and a vital three points too. Thoughts are with Kief and hope the injury isn't as bad as feared.
FT: Bristol City 0-2 Blues
Another commanding performance from John Eustace's team results in three points. Substitutes Miyoshi and Jutkiewicz with the goals to send 3,000 away fans home happy.
#BCFC
A thrilling - and hard earned - victory tonight, the high point of which came at the end when the entire coaching and playing staff went to show their appreciation to the 4,816
#bcfc
fans. Outstanding scenes.
Blues' squad is unrecognisable to what is was just six months ago. Competition for places, lots of assets, pace and tactical flexibility. Interesting times.
#bcfc
St Andrew's has been a really enjoyable place to visit again this season - a manager and team that represents
#bcfc
well. Shame not to round it off with a win but much better not to be sat there fretting. Three months until the next time.
Watching the penny drop with Che Adams last season was such an enjoyable experience. Wish him well for the rest of his career. It's imperative the money is reinvested wisely.
#bcfc
The fight is always there these days but we often bemoan the lack of quality. Tell you what, you'll have to go a long way to find two better goals than those by
@Jmags19
and
@OmarBogle9
. Superb strikes from those two, outstanding work rate from everyone.

'Knighthead’s plan to play a significant role in the ongoing transformation of Birmingham’s infrastructure and skyline.'
Tom, you can call St Ans whatever you want in my book.
#BCFC
That first half was quite extraordinary given the week Blues have just had. Big call to back a 16yo in CM - made to look like the right call by a composed display. Pleased justice was done in the end and what a moment for Odin Bailey.
#bcfc
Knighthead have made a wise appointment of a credible manager with the experience needed for the short term and the football philosophy to build for the medium term. Mowbray’s no mug and his interest in
#bcfc
is an encouraging vote of confidence for Knighthead’s vision. Exciting.
On a footballing level, bitterly disappointed by this. I was a huge believer in what Tony could do for
#bcfc
On a personal level - and that's really all that matters - it's absolutely the right thing to do and as ever TM seems to have handled it with class. Get well soon Tony.
Blues' attacking players going through a shooting drill, George Friend watching and applauding every one that goes in. Then greets each one of them as they file down the tunnel.
#bcfc
Sad to see Michael Morrison go, he was almost always willing to front up for an interview and seemed to have a genuine affection for Blues. The work
#bcfc
have to do in the next few weeks is troubling.
Spend 24 hours away then come back to find one EFL charge and suggestion of another. If the EFL investigation into BSH expedites their departure for better owners then it'll be a good thing. Punishing fans, coaches, players and staff for owners' alleged wrongdoing won't be.
#bcfc
A gritty away display, lit up by a moment of Bellingham perspiration and Hogan inspiration. Another strong display from Gardner and there's a growing possibility the end of the seasin might not be too stressful
#bcfc
Remarkable energy reserves from
#bcfc
after an emotionally and physically sapping trip to Swansea.
To implement a new system on a short-turnaround against a team with Forest's strength in depth was impressive. Up to eighth....surely not.
Incredibly brave performance from
#bcfc
today, plenty of reasons to feel sorry for themselves but they didn't for a second. They came out with real intent in that second half, lit up by a moment of magic. Alvaro deserved his goal - his best yet at Blues.
The future might be bright but good grief tonight was a hard watch. So frustrating because this game was there for the winning and the season is there for the saving. Struggling to see any signs they can do it.
#bcfc
We’ve lost two precious links to Birmingham City’s past in the last few days, two remarkable men who left indelible imprints on
#bcfc
. Go well Ron Saunders and Jim Smith. RIP and Keep Right On. 😢
Pleased AH has been offered a deal, hopefully not outlandish, hopefully incentive-laden, hopefully he signs it. Big, big career move coming for him.
#bcfc
Bela got a cross into the box, Juke attacked it like a man who'd seen food for the first time in a week and gobbled it up.
That's his 50th goal for
#bcfc
NGL, gutted. Really liked JE as a bloke, thought he was on the right tracks as a young head coach, got much more right than wrong. Hope this works out whichever way
#bcfc
go now because it simply has to go well.
Full story as Birmingham City part with John Eustace.
"It is essential that the Board and the football management are fully aligned on the importance of implementing a winning mentality and a culture of ambition across the entire Football Club."
