Bunch of people have been asking about the vision since Nikita's post so figured we might as well post this. We recorded it about a month ago and never did anything with it, but it's a reasonable summary of what we're working to build.

Another way this can be said is "Move deliberately and fix things". This sounds nice, but the problem is that working on the wrong things is the most common way for a startup to die. So "slow is smooth" might be the opposite of fast if you're working on the wrong things. And it's hard to validate in advance the "right things". Best way to find the right things is to move fast, learn quickly, and iterate.

So important. Even prior to that, you need understand where the partner sits in the hierarchy. The way in which you can count on owners/senior partners is very different than non owners / junior partners. Assume little to no autonomy in decision making as things come up for the latter group.

If you’re a venture backed founder, you’re in the grand slam business. Taking a swing that gets you on base is the same as a swing and a miss.

I’m so lucky that my oldest will tell me about her dreams in detail. It’s such a sweet moment for us. Only thing I can think of that would better is a year of forced labor in a Siberian gulag.
