@duanenicol @BritChic65 @BraydonMaz @bruceanderson Many people seem to have forgotten that Canada is one of the wealthiest countries on earth. The 9th largest economy with the 40th largest population. It is our moral obligation to help those who are less fortunate around the world. It’s disgusting to suggest otherwise.

@BraydonMaz @bruceanderson @duanenicol Canada providing foreign aid to people in need makes me very proud of my country. We are fortunate to be in that position of privilege. (I know the word privilege will probably trigger you, ha ha)

@SoCalled_1 @beltline_pres @DuaneBratt I don’t think the Americans have a very high threshold for pain. This largely goes unnoticed to them right now but once there are actual economic disruptions, there will be significant pressure to change course.

@wpgcyclist @therealdesib That’s cool. I don’t regularly listen to most of the artists chosen for the Super Bowl but I can usually appreciate the entertainment value. As an impartial observer, that show last night was kind of boring. I get that his regular fans would have enjoyed it, of course.

@beltline_pres @DuaneBratt You asked if what he said was wrong. It was. Saying Canada can’t inflict major disruption is also wrong. Canada has many fundamental inputs to American supply chains. Potash is one example of an irreplaceable component that is vital to supporting an entire industry.

@therealdesib I guess you have to be a fan. For me, it seemed to lack the energy and grandeur of a half time show.

@UrAvgJetsfan Low energy music and no visual grandeur. I get that I’m not the target though, ha ha.

@beltline_pres @DuaneBratt He’s wrong. He could not make Canada a non-viable country. Stopping Canadian auto imports stops Detroit assembly lines for his entire term. Canada could turn off potash exports and crash their entire agriculture industry. He might not believe it, but it’s a two way street.

@acoyne @CraigSauve Agreed. The idea that Donald Trump is playing a designed long term chess game is laughable. There is definitely a new trade negotiation coming. As in the past, we are far from powerless in that.

@duanenicol If I’m Carney, I’m calling an election immediately. Don’t give the momentum time to slow. Trump is in lunatic overdrive right now. Seize that before it becomes normalized and the conservatives find a foothold on a different issue.

This was a wild day. The people who came out to speak in favour of the project were all so articulate and heartfelt. Many of them were young people engaged in their community. It gave me hope for the future.
At City Hall this morning to present the design for an inner city affordable housing project beside the Granite Curling Club. People over Parking.

@stephenjay @brndpete Not a personal insult. It’s a shame you believe parking is more important than affordable housing. That’s for you to reconcile. Not me.

@stephenjay @brndpete Also. I don’t really care if there is an agreement or not. I believe affordable housing is more important than parking. A shame you don’t.

@stephenjay @brndpete I gave you a very good source. A city councillor who has been working with the club for a year speaking formally at a public hearing. Take it or leave it. You have provided no proof to the contrary.
