@hemeoncABnorth This is great. We diagnose so many of these in the ED and often patients have had symptoms for long periods of time!

@NormaRae1964 @hemeoncABnorth Definitely. But as an ER doc working in this city, good faith claims is quite a large percentage of the patients I see. This in addition to all the unpaid work doctors, nurses and first responders do already. The entire system is broken. 😔

@hemeoncABnorth @BloodyKleio I’m so sorry for your rough weekend call. Please know we appreciate you and your expertise so much and we are not trying to be annoying….just trying to work with a failing system.

@hemeoncABnorth @BloodyKleio We need 24/7 movement in the system right now. It is awful and I know our consultants feel it too. We do honestly feel bad calling but we are pretty stuck right now.

@hemeoncABnorth @BloodyKleio If I did that for all my consultant colleagues it would mean that more than 30 patients would sit in chairs all night waiting to be seen and waiting for a bed. If you’re the patient waiting 8-12 hours I think you would have some strong feelings about things being held to the am.

@hemeoncABnorth @BloodyKleio Medicine is super challenging right now and the emergency departments are feeling all the pressures of the broken system and destruction of primary care. We do appreciate everything you do but it’s not as easy as hold it all to the am anymore….we simply don’t have the space

@hemeoncABnorth @BloodyKleio Additionally with our shift schedules if we are leaving at 3 am which usually is already several hours after our shift was supposed to end we can’t really stay an extra four hours to hold the call until am. And with our high volumes this is not something that is easily handed ove

@hemeoncABnorth @BloodyKleio It’s so much more complicated now. In ER we have so many EIPs that we are under constant bed pressures. If we have thirty patients in the waiting room and that ‘quick question’ is what will help us get a patient home and free up a bed we truly can’t wait.
