Would love to ditch the car and commute by train. But this is the price of a season ticket I would need. A one hour journey. 🤯
How are we ever going to ease climate issues if we don't provide affordable alternatives?
Today is my last day at STV News.
I’ve had the most incredible 4 & a half years - lived my dream - covered hundreds of stories of all genres (around 500!) - thank you to everyone who trusted me to tell theirs.
It’s time for a new challenge … one I’m looking forward to 🎤
🚨Well.. after nearly four years at STV North it’s time for a new challenge.
It’s been a blast with the best team - who I’ve learned so much from. Thanks to everyone who has trusted me to tell their story.
From September I’ll be joining STV’s Glasgow newsroom.
Police are dealing with ongoing incidents in the Kirkton area of Dundee.
Videos show roads blocked by fires, cars being damaged, riot police, fireworks being launched towards vehicles. Pictures show smashed windows.
@STVNews
This is what the southbound A90 lane from Aberdeen to Dundee at Stracathro looks like.
A car was just rescued by police. Totally impassable. Causing huge tailbacks.
@STVNews
Happy World Down Syndrome Day to my sister and all those who celebrate the achievements of people with that special extra chromosome. 🌟
I know my place in the sibling pecking order..
Lump in my throat watching the amazing tribute to
@DJMacDSTV
.
Sláinte DJ, toasting you with wine you gave for Christmas.
Watching
@STVNews
, the programme you loved, on the TV you gave me when I first moved here.
Thank you for your brutally honest advice, wisdom and kindness.

Delighted to be shortlisted for the RTS Young Journalist of the Year Award for 2020. Alongside my talented colleague
@LauraAlderman_
and brilliant former colleague

Well that was an interesting live📺
Pitch black. Can’t hear studio as no phone signal… 2 minutes til on air and Bill finds one bar - somehow queues cameraman Przemek from 100 yards away, who then queues me by frantically waving the torch on his phone.
Telly magic. Some team.
Had an absolute ball last night hosting Mental Health Aberdeen's first ever fundraising dinner to mark 70 years of the charity. A great sold out crowd who were up for a good laugh and plenty of pennies raised for the cause. 🎉 🍻
NEW: The soft reopening of Aberdeen's Union Terrace Gardens today has been CANCELLED.
Aberdeen City Council are blaming 'supply chain issues.'
@STVNews
One thing I love about my job is how varied my days can be.
Today for eg:
Morning: interview at St Johnstone training ground
Afternoon: interview on movie set
For new parents, a Down’s Syndrome diagnosis can turn a happy moment into a worrying and confusing time, but Wouldn’t Change a Thing – a group run by parents – wants to share positive experiences with a new book.
🌟Nice bit of personal news to end the year. I'm now a Fellow of the brilliant
@JSchofieldTrust
.
Looking forward to chatting and learning from
@nickeardleybbc
throughout 2022. 📺
The four Scottish Firefighters involved in the UKs search and rescue response in Turkey are home.
They said it was a ‘harrowing experience’ but are proud of the work they carried out
@STVNews
Out if office = on 🔥
I picked a crazy year to start at
@STVNews
- but it's been brilliant.
Thanks to everyone in the North team for their help through this first year. See you for a big 2021.
(This was the first photo I took back in January - feels like a lifetime ago.👇)
Tonight on
@stvnews
the incredible story of
@Thepennyrollson
who is walking the entire coastline of Britain for
@AlzResearchUK
. Karen is one year into her walk, she hopes to be finished by 2022!
Here's part one of my report from tonights
@STVNews
.
During
#SeafarersWeek
we highlight the plight of the thousands of men and women who are still stuck at sea. Some working well beyond their scheduled contract.

This is the que for free water bottles at Greenock's Battery Park tonight.
Water is out in areas across Inverclyde and North Ayrshire as nearby Loch Thom is frozen over.
I'd never given blood until today. I was able but just never did. The law change on donations last week made me realise I took that right for granted. Go do it if you can. Free teacakes at the end.
Tonight on STV News at Six North we have a special programme live from St Andrews on the eve of the 150th Open Championship. Watch if you can.
@STVNews
Checking out the 'stone snake' made by local kids in the village and came across this. It's a message to my little sister from a wee boy who goes to the same special needs school as her. Obviously missing his little pal. 💙
What an inspirational woman.
@Thepennyrollson
is raising thousands of pounds for
@AlzResearchUK
, walking around the entire coastline of the UK and Ireland.
The hardest part? Leaving the people she has met along the way behind.
It is with profound sadness that I learned earlier of the unexpected death of my friend & colleague
@DJMacDSTV
All of us at
@STVNews
are in shock. He was a champion of the North newsroom and we will miss him hugely. Duillich a'chreidsinn.
A massive parcel has been wrongly delivered to my flat from the Blackpool Reptile and Aquatics Centre. Hope the rightful owner picks it up soon. Seriously can't be arsed with a potential snake in my hallway😂
Gutted about Meat Loaf. Me and my Granda used to listen to him on our holidays. We'd put Bat Outta Hell on in Largs and it would just be finishing by the time the ferry pulled in to Millport😂
