Guy in front of me at Costco is on his phone, “I have to cancel tonight. I’m going to this

Rare that there’s this much excitement even in a city like Calgary for an event.
Just voted. There was a young guy working with Elections Canada helping hold the door and helping seniors come in and he was wearing a yellow vest. I was going to yell and tell him how offensive that is to

but at the last moment I remembered that I am not an idiot.
The NDP’s 38% tax increase is massive and needs to be talked about more. It would be the largest business tax increase any province or U.S. state has had in a decade.
Could you imagine a bigger sign to investors that Alberta is not open for business?
TMZ and a dozen other US outlets are covering a Canadian political story. Unifor media outlets and the CBC are ignoring it.
That won’t make this headline go away, nor will it stop the Liberals from creating another gaffe tomorrow.
I still consider myself a lifelong New Democrat, I just can’t support Rachel Notley. It pains me to do this but she is not a real New Democrat. This election I am supporting the UCP and Danielle Smith. Fellow NDPers, lend her your vote too.

The Canadian truck convoy is going to receive more international media attention this year than our multi-billion dollar subsidy receiving Canadian media industry.
Fact Check: The Tories say their plan to reduce the rate on the lowest income tax bracket is a "universal tax cut." But millions of Canadian pay no income tax.

What are they celebrating? Hamas accomplished nothing militarily. What is there to celebrate? Civilians butchered at a concert? Unarmed people killed and beheaded in their homes? The kidnappings?
Akin to celebrating school shooters. This is awful.
Is there *any* reason why Trudeau shouldn’t say tomorrow that we won’t import Russian oil any time soon or ever again?
If there ever was a time for a policy like this now is it.
In Britain hypocrisy of this kind brought down a PM.
In Canada mainstream media refuses to cover it (on a otherwise slow news day). Despite that millions engaged with it on social media and it’s being covered by independent media. Media bias and Trudeau hypocrisy on display.
If “green” leaders didn’t exist you would need a creative science fiction writer to even think of a hypocrite on this level. She commutes 4,000+ KMs for work on oil. Every aspect of her life depends on oil, but she continues to attack the livelihood of Canadians that produce it.
This would be a disaster coming from a rookie partisan MP or MLA. Instead it’s a smear from a journalist who never even thought they’d need to name the “expert”. Shows how bad media has become.
Also, Pierre will be a great PM.
That sound you hear is Alberta’s provincial surplus growing and
@ABDanielleSmith

Her job literally requires travelling from Vancouver Island to Ottawa, and she does so dozens of times a year.
Until you find a non-fossil fuel opportunity for doing so don’t attack the livelihood of people that produce energy.
We cannot bail-out oil sands from the Saudi-Russian price war. We can and must help workers and stimulate Alberta economy by expanding non-fossil fuel opportunities.

Great article and compelling read.
But if you think Albertans are the embarrassing cousin no one wants to talk about” it may not be for you.
But if that’s not you give it a try!
UCP launching the campaign with a $1500 per family tax cut shows they know where their voters are at. This is a tax break for every working Albertan. Great announcement.
Insane. CBC is beyond the point of parody. As far as I know even Iran state media isn’t claiming Trump is responsible for PS752.
One day I want to be a country that doesn’t tell wounded veterans they’re asking for more than we can give and instead we can say that to Simpson.
A bureaucrat secretly recorded 20 government meetings and confidentially leaked them to media and the worst accusation is that elected officials asked for evidence on policy proposals that would affect hundreds of thousands of people.
Safe to say GoA is doing a good job.
Andrew Scheer deserves credit for how united the conservative movement is. It is arguably as united as its been in 40 years. Max left and no one joined. Media attacks on Scheer have gotten so desperate that they’re running Michael Coren op-eds. Scheer stays calm and poised.
This story continues to be one of the larger stories on the globe. But the same press that loses it if Canada gets mentioned on the Colbert Report is largely acting like it’s a nuisance and not a news story.
The Canadian truck convoy is going to receive more international media attention this year than our multi-billion dollar subsidy receiving Canadian media industry.
Looked back to find a poll from this point in the writ in 2019. It had the UCP at 45 and the NDP at 40. Underestimating the UCPs win two weeks later by 17 points.
Knock doors, have fun and don’t take polls or twitter too seriously.
Thank you to the hundreds if not thousands of Albertans and fellow former New Democrats who reached out to me to say they’re doing the same! Can’t wait to lend our vote to
@ABDanielleSmith
and have a wave as blue as our province!

The Boris victory has been a solid lesson for conservative politics. It’s good to gently mock media while attacking their bias.
Also, easier to grow the tent with blue collar voters and commuters than with the hip urbanites the political class seems desperate to impress.
Albertans gave the UCP a majority government with one of the largest gaps between government and opposition Canada has seen in decades. I’m pretty sure the message they were sending to the NDP wasn’t that they need to spend more time on Twitter acting offended.

Concerning to hear that protestors have been caught on video assaulting a journalist outside of

The market cap for Encana is $7.8 Billion, which is roughly what the market cap for SNC Lavalin and Bombardier are combined (although both have been up since Trudeau was reelected).
Would anyone even argue there isn't a bias towards companies in Eastern Canada?
CTV News needs to stop playing this gentleman trying to blame sanctions and the lack of spare parts for the airline industry for the plane crash. It was increasingly evident it was shot down by the regime. Quit making it seem like it should be a reason to *lift* sanctions.
Reported in British media, but ignored by Canadian media.
Does anyone think it would be the same way if something negative was currently breaking about Erin O’Toole?
It’s a good day when people are talking about war-hero dogs. Let’s not forget Gander the Newfoundlander. He fought with the Royal Rifles in Hong Kong. After fighting on numerous occasions he died by picking up a grenade thrown at Canadians and rushing it towards the Japanese.
The NDP is just oozing insecurity at this point. They’re claiming 1,200 attendance in a venue that has a full capacity of 412. It’s not even a bad visual, but this is way smaller than rallies even in 2019 and way smaller than their big ones in 2015.
After a very negative election campaign by the NDP they now don’t want the UCP to call

Premier.
Sorry - but:
Jason Kenney is your Premier.
Jason Kenney is my Premier.
Jason Kenney is our Premier.
Two years into COVID-19 and Canada is one of the most vaccinated countries in the world. That’s good.
Still, it is illegal for roughly 75% of Canadians to go to the gym today and work out. That’s insane.
In the US & Canada only 5 states are changing their corporate tax rate - and they’re all moving the rate down.
The NDP’s 38% increase would be one of the largest business tax increases anywhere has seen in years.
It would be a clear message Alberta is *not* open for business.
A few days ago no shortage of Canadian pundits said this would be inconsequential or it was something wrong to even discuss. But we need to do this now and should have done it long ago.
Demonstrate Canadian leadership.

The anti-UCP twitter accounts want to cry about it, but obviously Danielle has a human touch their twitter anger has trouble competing with.
This would be a huge win for First Nations groups, a huge win for Alberta and frankly a huge win for the next generation of Albertans who want to work in our resource sector.

Don’t forget how much left wing money was lit on fire securing an L for the NDP this election. Don’t take conservative victories for granted. This was a big win.
One policy that will make everything in Alberta cost more for a decade.
What Alberta’s NDP is looking to do would make the electricity prices in Ontario under McGuinty look affordable.
Notley and the NDP like to say “it’s only a 3% tax hike on businesses”.
If Notley wins Alberta will be home to the largest business tax increase any state or province has seen in nearly a decade in the U.S. and Canada.
What more could a premier do to scare away jobs?
In the past few years 10 jurisdictions in North America have changed corporate taxes. Nine lowered them. Only New York Stat raised corporate taxes, and did so by 0.75%.
Notley’s 3% increase, a 38% increase overall, would be the largest business tax increase anywhere in years.
Predictions for the UCP vote:
1: The typical twitteratti will complain no matter what voting process is used.
2: Kenney will win.
3: The predictable small group will cry foul when Kenney wins.
4: The UCP will get stronger through this process and steamroll the NDP (again).
When the UCP took office Alberta had 10,900 doctors.
Today only 11,152 remain. 🙀
As Alberta continues to work its way through a global pandemic this is another reminder that the NDPs surefire strategy of being outraged non-stop on twitter isn’t helping anyone.
I really think Ottawa Centre (as I said 10 days ago, about Parkdale High Park, Davenport & Danforth IN Toronto) is going to NDP.
Singh isn't done with growing his ballot support.

The NDP are hosting 11 Stampede parties. They’ve openly advocated that the midway, grandstand show, rodeo and other stampede events shouldn’t go ahead, but they’re good having 11 individual stampede events.
Hearing about a new trend in Stampede beer tents and bars called the “Rachel”. It’s where you tell everyone not to drink and drinking is bad then you put your cowboy hat on backwards and order 11 Jager-bombs.

The NDP ran to be popular on Twitter and pumped themselves up with their own fake polls last election. Since then, more of the same. They’re still in denial they lost, and it’s hilarious.

tweet since the election, and it’s a presidential candidate in Nigeria praising our new Minister of Municipal Affairs.
And this is the same Albertan the perpetually-angry NDP attempted to defame as a white supremist. 😂
I celebrate Mr.

, a Nigerian who was first elected as a Member of Parliament in Canada, and has subsequently been appointed Minister for Municipal Affairs. Seeing Nigerians prosper has always been the cornerstone of my vision, the Atiku Plan.
Great event at city hall. It’s a shame that the Jewish community faces the discrimination they do in 2023, but they’re wonderful. Shout out to the mayor for encouraging me to get out. The low bar she has for supporting our most attacked religious minority isn’t us. Calgary rules.

If it was a professor yelling racial slurs and calling a student a whore against any other minority group the individual would be fired already and progressive groups would be outraged coast to coast.
Gross how much anti-semitism is allowed at our universities.
The two “former conservatives” were against the UCP last election and long before. They both supported other parties six years ago, context curiously missing from the story! 😂
If anything it’s a testament to the UCP that won 55% of the vote that no one is endorsing the NDP.
Performers took 18 months off of their craft and primary source of income to help us get through the pandemic. They have every right to listen to Dr. Hinshaw and work. Concerts and getting back to normal will bring us closer. The NDPs angry twitter mob can continue be angry.
Twitter has been around long enough that these bad tweets are predictable anytime a conservative wins.
The same people that tweet this nonsense always have no problem when Trudeau wins with 32% of the vote and less than the conservative candidate.
Reality check: With voter turnout dropping to 43%, just 17.8% of Ontario’s total eligible voters actually voted for the Conservatives, who now have 100% control of the province for 4 more years. If that doesn’t tell you our democracy is broken, I don’t know what will.

I am so pleased to have this team working with me to deliver on the promises we made to Albertans during the election.
These are not just our government’s priorities, they are Albertans’ priorities. The next four years start today and I can’t wait to get back to work with each
King of baffling that Bell Media is letting CTV News lose its entire reputation for the sake of not supervising social media editors that are obviously activists.

There are a lot of bad takes on Western alienation, but few as bad as this.
When your source is a Vice article you should probably just put your phone down.
How? I’m triple vaxxed. I’d like to believe this.
Yesterday there were 31 major sports events in North America. The only one that limited fan attendance at all was the Raptors game in Toronto — where no fans were allowed. Ontario is more vaccinated than all but one U.S. state.

The Alberta NDP platform is to raise taxes on employers by 37.5% and to cut money for downtown Calgary revitalization, the Rivers District and a new arena.

Imagine being in Beijing at the Olympics and “absolutely aghast” with the new interim leader of the *opposition* party back home.
I’m actually impressed. Bruce is so hypocritical you would need a creative comedy sit-com writer to even dream up a hack this bad. 🤡
I'm half a world away covering a very serious Olympics, and covering Canada here, and I'm still absolutely aghast at what's happening at home. The new interim leader of the Conservatives was one of the people who went out to meet the occupying convoy.
Steamrolling.
For context, in 2013 the Liberal Party made memberships free and Justin Trudeau and the entire Liberal leadership race registered 130,000 voters. The Liberals built a ton of momentum off that. Pierre sold roughly 180,000 more memberships at $15 each.
311,958 Canadians joined the CPC through the membership website.
Last night, Pierre’s campaign wrote CPC HQ asking it to publicly release the number of memberships sold through the website. We encourage all campaigns to follow suit
