@IAmClintMurphy @cliffcornell_ In the entire universe of things company management can do with their cash, paying a dividend is literally the LAST thing I'd want them to do. They've basically given up and are just meekly returning part of the company to its owners. It is NOT magical income. No thank you.

@MillionsWithMe Compounding is remarkable! No need to live off just the "dividends" -- you'll be able to pull 4% out of that annually. A lot of people get confused that "dividend investing" is the goal, but it isn't. Maximizing net worth is what you're going for and use the 4% rule from there.

Everyone thinks there's some secret behind the wealth curtain but the realistic answer is that almost every person with any amount of money should simply purchase VTI every single month. From a betting perspective it's the highest probability of maximizing net worth.
