Challenges for previous generations, an incomplete list: - World War I AND the Spanish Flu (that was orders of magnitude deadlier than Covid-19)… - The Great Depression, no jobs for years, soup lines… - World War II, rationing of nearly every commodity… - The Cold War, Bay of Pigs, Cuban Missile Crisis, how to hide under your desk at school in case of nuclear attack… - The Korean and Vietnam wars, the Draft… - Carter’s inflation, even & odd days to gas up your car based on your license plate… It’s all been done before. Some tough pills to swallow: - LIFE IS NOT FAIR. Every single one of you out there will experience this. What you make, or don’t make, of your trials in life will determine your future. - Participation trophies are worthless, you need to EARN what you need/want. - Your feelings do not make a business or your life successful, hard work and dedication does. - Having a “useful or necessary” skill, trade or knowledge that others don’t is a recipe for success, the lack of these is a recipe for failure. If your only skill is underwater basket weaving, you’re probably going to have trouble feeding yourself. - You’re not unique. Every generation in history has faced challenges, the vast majority of those challenges were far worse and more deadly.i
