Since last August, when @babylonlabs_io's BTC staking went live and @WrappedBTC FUD resurfaced, $WBTC has been consistently trading below peg across several exchanges. This suggests that non-merchant users are swapping out $WBTC for $BTC, reinforcing strong demand for native Bitcoin. At the same time, as seen in WBTC merchants are accelerating BTC withdrawals. This is a clear signal that $BTC could be shifting toward an environment that is: A) Trustless B) Capable of instant peg-ins/peg-outs C) Designed with lower bridge fees Also, as Bitcoin infra and L2s increasingly adopt native $BTC, $WBTC liquidity will continue to dry up. So, we have to actively explore and integrate alternative BTC assets to fill this gap.

(They've actually rebranded from a Stacks DEX to a Bitcoin infrastructure project) By simply connecting a Bitcoin wallet to the Alex app, you can perform all the following swaps within the Bitcoin ecosystem, with a UI similar to typical AMM DEXs. Available Trading Pairs - BTC <> Runes - BTC <> BRC20 - BRC20 <> Runes I successfully swapped DOG(Runes) <> Ordi(BRC-20) using only a Bitcoin wallet connection, without needing to connect any other wallets. However, the current limitation is that it seems to only pull liquidity from Stacks, which means trading various Runes/BRC20 tokens is not yet possible. Going forward, it's likely to evolve into a system that utilizes liquidity from various Bitcoin L2s and other Layer 1s to find the optimal trading route and send tokens back to your Bitcoin wallet.
