@lakiw @ErrataRob Fun fact: the reason Ethernet cables have a max length and frames a min size is so that collisions will always be detected by both stations. WiFi has a “hidden station” issue which prevents such a simple solution so it uses L1 ACKs to inform it of transmission success.

@bikatr7 I anticipated a much larger limit and built memoization into my part 1 solution, so even 75 is solved basically instantly. I'm surprised they didn't up the blinks to 1000 or more to really force this.

Also applies to how you made the challenge vs how the challenge looks to players.

@RaphalD7 @anumness Seems like a perfect life-lesson to me. You're constantly surrounded by people in positions of authority that believe incorrect (e.g. 1/0 = 0) and sometimes dangerous (e.g. religion) things. Sometimes you laugh, sometimes argue, sometimes educate, sometimes you navigate around.

Youtube is hellbent on black hole event horizon related quizes. I’ve gotten about 20 of these in the last week.

@CmonMattTHINK The more I think about it the less mind blowing it seems. Among the many elements of ℚ are all the ones that can have (113/355) factored out of them. So when you multiply these by (355/113) the two cancel so even elements like 1/1 are still there after multiplication.

I was looking up an example of how to use libpng and saw this. Some people are unhinged.

Apparently a former resident of my apartment got a DUI. 7 different law firms mailed my address this week offering legal services.

@RaphalD7 @idropFbombs It does give you great insight into their thought process though! Many people are unable to judge complex topics on their logical, technical, or scientific merits. So instead, they adopt a contrarian viewpoint because it makes them feel smarter than the majority.

Every few years I re-learn that the old "1.44 MB" floppy size was a cursed number. It combined both base 10 and base 2. The actual size was 1,474,560 bytes which is: 2 sides 80 tracks / side 18 sectors / track 512 bytes / sector But 1.44 MB comes from 1.44 * 1000 * 1024 🧐
