Have you ever seen a Falcon 9 First Stage booster- a rocket(!), try to maneuver a turn from one quiet 2-lane road onto another?
If not… Here you go! 🤩🚀👍
(NOTE: Must remove the STOP 🛑 sign first)

Last night after work, I drove into McGregor and you’ll never guess what I saw...
@SpaceX
’s Falcon 9 first stage booster, B1067! 🔥🚀🔥
Looked like it was packed, wrapped up, and ready to get on the road to Florida!
(*CRS-22 launch: NET June 3 at KSC! 🤩)
(...)
Eager to try out my camera video instead of the normally-used iPhone, I began to record the venting- which quickly escalated! 🤩🚀☀️
(Raw video, no camera tripod (😬) - 2:20 duration)
Spoiler alert: 2+ min Tripod, Raptor engine static fire!
While the Falcon Heavy center core, B1066, was lowered today at
@SpaceX
McGregor, quite an exciting and unexpected sight was found horizontal this evening.
#Falcon9
🔥🚀✨
Three engine tests were just heard from
@SpaceX
McGregor in only ~45 minutes! The first was 3min 40sec in duration, fully rattled windows, and incl throttling and jet-like tones. The next 2 (1min; 3min) were MEGA-DEEP, w/ completely different sounds from the first.
#spacextests
A Falcon 9 First Stage booster- like was viewed lighting up the night sky for the
@SpaceX
CRS-23 mission to the ISS- departed the McGregor Rocket Engine Testing and Development facility early this morning
(:42 sec duration video) 🚀🌫🤩
As soon as I got off work Thursday, I dashed out to McGregor... And look what I found 🤩🏗🚀☀️

A new Falcon Second Stage (including Merlin Vacuum engine) has been installed!
But THIS one has some very special markings…
*N A S A*, including both the NASA Worm and the Meatball! 🤩🚀👍
@NASASpaceflight
@SpaceXTests
There was just a long but very low engine test heard from
@SpaceX
McGregor! Oddly, I had no idea it was even occurring until I opened the door to let my dog in! Lol Then there was no doubt! 🔥🚀✨ More testing of [very] low throttles perhaps? 🤩(~5:52-5:54pm; 2+ min)
#spacextests
One of
@SpaceX
’s new Falcon 9 First Stage boosters was seen in rural West TX on its way to Vandenberg SFB, CA, following successful completion of prelaunch-testing at the McGregor, TX facility.
(Imagine trying to maneuver this turn 😳😅)
A 29-second, rumbling roar of a
@SpaceX
McGregor engine test was just heard! (6:26:00-6:26:29pm CT) 🔥🚀💫

Big [calculated] risks for even bigger rewards! Always learning and moving forward! 🙌🔥🚀🌎🤩
@elonmusk
@Erdayastronaut
Perhaps could we also enjoy some HD audio of Raptor recordings? Would love for others to be able to enjoy the deep, earth-rattling roars... paired with the brilliance of mach diamonds of course ;) 🔥🚀🔥
A second HUGE rocket engine test of
@SpaceX
McGregor was just heard! This one started strong, instantly rattling the windows; slight depth changes were heard but no noticeable throttle-ups/downs. Gradual stop in last secs. (8:38:53- 8:40:22pm CT;
1min 29sec) 🔥🚀

#SpaceXTests
@NASASpaceflight
Even during the holiday, testing at
@SpaceX
’s McGregor facility has continued.
On my last visit, test preps were being made at the Merlin Vacuum engine bay, along with flarestack testing at the ground-based Raptor stands.
(Roars have been heard daily- w/ 2 mega rumbles today!)
Guess what I found VERTICAL this evening at
@SpaceX
McGregor?! 🤯🤩🔥🚀✨
Ok, it’s not a Starship… but is just as amazing- and already orbitally proven! ;) A shiny, new FALCON 9 First Stage booster! (Can’t wait to see it in the sunlight! 😎)
@NASASpaceflight
#McGregorTX
A special delivery from Hawthorne, CA arrived today at
@SpaceX
’s McGregor, TX Development and Test facility ahead of its upcoming Space Coast launch.

I just heard a 2nd rumbling roar for the day... complete with seemingly constant throttling down/up, plus deep and jet-like tones. It even reached full window-rattling level on one of the later throttles up, rather than from the start! 🔥🚀✨ ~7:54:00-7:56:24 CDT

Sunday, while visiting the
@SpaceX
McGregor facility area, I noticed:
• No first stage boosters vertical
• No tests heard or seen (short visit)
• Second stage stand loaded and ready to test!
• Propellant tanks/ towers have multiplied!
*Mega-thread (...)
@elonmusk
Elon... would you please share a video of one of those mighty roaring Raptor fires? (Are you also as enamored with these gorgeous beasts? -Quite incredible! ;))
If ever a test is going to knock-my-socks-off in awe, the engine test
@SpaceX
McGregor just performed would be one of the top!! 8 1/2 min of incredibly deep rumbles, incl throttling, extended durations of holding low, and depth changes! (4:30:30-4:39:00; 8.5 min)🔥🚀
#spacextests
Just heard a MEGA-RUMBLE from
@SpaceX
McGregor! It had a Merlin-esque throttle sequence and duration- but rather than a long constant run post-big throttles, it roared even more! (Raptor achieving drop to silent and more? Or new Merlin sequence?)🔥🚀9:49:57-9:52:22am
#SpaceXTests
Just heard the first mega-rumbler of the day from
@SpaceX
McGregor! The rocket engine testing facility lit-up the powerful window rattler, w/ huge rumbles heard from 2:46:52-2:48:12pm, incl. multiple throttle-downs and an up, plus MUCH depth throughout! (1min 20sec)
#spacextests
A MEGA-test from the rocket engine stands of
@SpaceX
McGregor was just heard! There was no chance of missing this one… fortunately! And it was complete with plenty of throttling- up and down, window rattles, plus a 2-min 45-sec duration! 🤩🔥🚀 10:32:24 - 10:35:09am

What’s happening tomorrow w/ SN8? While cryos are scheduled for Sun- Wed, somehow rumor was we’d hear Raptor roars tomorrow... Is that true?
Ok, here’s what I saw driving into McGregor at 6:26pm... (sorry, v. dirty windshield) First, I thought something was on fire or blew-up, but as soon as it clicked what was happening, I took off in that direction... windows down lol, not wanting to miss it!
#spacextests
The
@SpaceX
McGregor facility was busy this past weekend, even during my short visit: including 2 Raptor tests (an ~1min30sec burn on Tripod while driving into town, and a short but deep roar from horizontal stand); a Falcon 9 booster was vertical, and a 2nd stage ready to fire.
I have heard 2 roars and rumbles today from the rocket engine test stands of
@SpaceX
McGregor: 9:01:10-9:03:55am and 2:09:22-~2:09:34pm 🤩🔥🚀🌤
#SpaceXTests
There was just a 3+ min engine test of
@SpaceX
McGregor. The first I was able to hear today, it began with a burst then immediately dropped to the lowest rumble. No window rattles, just a distant-sounding grumbling murmur... of a rocket engine! 😉🚀💫 8:39-8:42pm CT
#spacextests
…A flame burst and a plume grew, as the thundering roar of a Raptor Engine soon followed- continuing for a full 2 minutes and 25 seconds!
(30-sec video clip)

#McGregorTX
…And about an hour later, there was a huge roar heard- and distantly seen, from the horizontal RAPTOR ENGINE test stand!🔥🚀🔥
Like last night:
• ~2 min duration
• minor throttling, after the first min
(Almost ready for
#Starbase
?!)
(42 sec clip)
#Starship
#SpaceXTests
There was a HUGE, mega-rumble heard tonight from the rocket engine test stands of
@SpaceX
McGregor! No significant throttling was noted, just one long powerful (!) roar of an unknown, mysterious engine 🔥🚀🔥 (~8:56:40-8:58:30pm)
@elonmusk
#SpaceXTests
On an otherwise quiet, windy day, the silence was broken for 4min 10sec of rocket engine rumbling magic! The test stands of
@SpaceX
McGregor delivered a roar unlike any other, complete with throttling and MEGA-window rattles- plus 2 INSANE, 30sec-long blocks!🔥🚀🤯🤩
#spacextests
Falcon 9 B1078 was seen leaving the
@SpaceX
McGregor facility Sunday morning following successful completion of its recent test campaign.
The rocket will travel across the rural, southern roadways to Kennedy Space Center, FL, where it will launch the Crew-6 mission to the ISS.
Falcon 9 First Stage, B1069, has completed its recent test campaign at
@SpaceX
McGregor, the Test and Development facility, in preparation for upcoming launches 🔥🚀🤩

There was a successful, 15-sec, FIRST static fire of the new vertical Raptor engine test stand at
@SpaceX
McGregor! (5:30pm) 🤩🔥🚀
(The new sound-suppression diverter is so effective, I unfortunately could not hear a thing from home, 15+ mi away)
Photos: 11:45am 6/4/21
I just heard a HUGE rumble from a
@SpaceX
McGregor rocket engine test! Right from the start, there was a *BA-BOOM* along w/ a window rattle, which then dropped to a more mellow-sounding, distant roar. (3:03:42-3:04:10pm CT; ~28 sec duration) 🚀✨
#spacextests
Just heard the third mega-rumble for today from the rocket engine test stands of
@SpaceX

@NASASpaceflight
I have heard 2 engine tests so far this evening of
@SpaceX
McGregor. Both started with bursts and then immediately throttled down. I don’t believe the 1st was more than a few seconds. The 2nd held low for 34-35 sec.
@elonmusk
