I know this isn't really the point of the project but if you could integrate a simple to-do list/calendar feature then I'd really only use bluejay instead of spreading my tasks over 2-3 apps

I personally use it to do daily things which are minimal but need to be done each day, and then add in bigger projects on certain days for a range of time. That way all the basics get done, and so do the more imposing things, but every day is a bit different and interesting :)
