As one gets older, one reflects a bit more. Iβm very proud of so many aspects of our program. However, towards the very top is getting to coach alongside former athletes. I am honored to add Coach Jaylon Radel to our staff this season, alongside Coach Matt Mayeske.

2024 Sports in Kansas 6A Offensive Player of the Year Bravin Powell of Gardner Edgerton Powell led GE to back to back titles in 6A and is now 2-1 in state title games as a starting QB. He combined for 43 TDs and 2,289 yards of offense this season. He had three rushing TDs and two passing TDs in the championship win over Manhattan in the title game. Powell was also named Top 11 from Sports in Kansas. #sportsinkansas

2024 Sports in Kansas 6A πCoach of the Year Jesse Owen of Gardner Edgerton Prior to Owenβs arrival, GE had never won a state football title. Theyβve now won two in the last two years and have played for three straight 6A titles under Owen. GE won the 6A state title in a great game of two powerhouse teams as they defeated Manhattan 36-33 in the 6A state championship game in Emporia. GE won the title over Derby last season and took state runner up in 2022 as they lost to Manhattan in Double OT. #sportsinkansas
