“Being heard is so close to being loved that most people cannot tell the difference.”
Good listening is a powerful but waning practice.
I loved these suggestions, from
@blake_glosson
, for how we might improve our listening and make others feel heard.

played 12 seasons in the NFL but only 3 with the Bears(?!) He always felt more like a Bears lifer to me, especially since he played such a key role in their SB run. Loved watching him growing up.
Absolutely beautiful 60-second clip by

on assurance of salvation.
If you trust in Christ, your salvation “is more certain than the rising of the sun.”
What an encouragement.
"As for His failing you, never dream of it — hate the thought. The God who has been sufficient until now, should be trusted to the end." —Charles Spurgeon
(Quoted by David Sunday)
The beauty of the Gospel is not that we are strong and sinless, but that God loves us and rescues us while we are still weak and sinful (Romans 5:6-8).

Fully agree. Also.... how on earth DMont got the first down on this still blows my mind. There were literally 5 Vikings who coulda tackled him before the marker.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Illuminating, convicting, joy-producing. Thank you,

First two literally changed the game, third has given more hope to Bears fans than any single player I can remember.
@WaddleandSilvy
y'all should discuss this Q.
@Samuel_W_Ryder
I know the struggle! You'll be back to motivation before you know it. I found that setting a goal of writing just one paragraph on days like that can be helpful. Taking a night off isn't the end of the world either. You got this! 🙌
@runbackdave
Completely agree, the same feeling just dawned on me. Feels really good to see progress (against another contender nonetheless), even while the
#Bears
have very little talent around Fields.
It has been so hard to watch "the worst team in the league"
#Bears
these last 2 games. Other than dominating on both sides of the ball and outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 67-11 (since halftime of Wk 1), the
#Bears
have looked so bad.
A man in a wheelchair was asked, "Do you feel confined by your wheelchair?" He replied, "My wheelchair doesn't confine me; it liberates me. Without it I would be confined to a bed." You can find evidence for whatever mindset you choose. —James Clear, Atomic Habits
Really wanted to see the
#Bears
get a chance to score there, they were moving the ball well in the 2nd half. Gotta think Flus would've gone for 2, too, based on his aggressiveness this game. Truly a valiant performance by Fields today; he carried the Bears and gave them a chance.
Bad call aside, that was a beautiful TD run by
#Fields
. Would've loved to have that stand, not only for this game but also because he deserves a highlight run like that.
"My iniquities have gone over my head; they are too heavy for me to carry." (Psalm 38:4)
"Jesus personally carried our sins in his body on the cross. ... By his wounds you are healed."
(1 Peter 2:24)
Something else I've loved from this game is seeing defensive guys rally around the ball. Like 3, 4, 5 white jerseys surrounding the ball carrier. That's good coaching and guys buying in.

"For every look at yourself, take ten looks at Christ. He is altogether lovely. Such infinite majesty, and yet such meekness and grace—and all for sinners, even the chief!... Feel his all-seeing eye settled on you in love, and repose in his almighty arms." —Robert Murray M'Cheyne
Am I right that the
#Bears
still haven't given up the all-time wins lead to the Packers? And if they can win tonight, they'll reclaim solo possession of it? (I can't remember what ever happened with this.)
"The LORD raises up the poor from the dust. He lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor."
—1 Samuel 2:8
How does Christ communicate to us the benefits of redemption?
Through his ordinances: especially the word, sacraments, and prayer, all of which are made effectual to the elect for salvation.
Thank you, Jesus.

“Lord, there is no one like you. You are great; your name is great in power. Who should not fear you, King of the nations? It is what you deserve. For among all the wise people of the nations and among all their kingdoms, there is no one like you.”
Jeremiah 10:6-7, CSB
The
#Bears
starting defense tonight is their 2nd string team in Week 1. At least 6-7 starters didn't play. Yet 4 straight impressive stops to open the game. That says something about coaching, effort, and buy-in.
