Today, we celebrate our #midwife crush Biddy Mason. Born enslaved in 1818, she became a renowned midwife and healer. Taking back her freedom in 1856, she later purchased land in downtown L.A. and left a lasting legacy.

Midwives: vital for climate resilience. The midwife-led continuity model of care uses fewer resources. Midwives provide safe, low-intervention care, resulting in minimal medical waste during normal vaginal births, #COP28 #MidwivesAndClimate #birthjustice
