It's backed by the largest network in the world & most secure network. Banks " backing bitcoin " is a joke. They'll eventually want a piece of bitcoin to make money off of. What's the problem in your eyes with Bitcoin ? My views on banks, getting fines for literally money laundering, freezing accounts, not allowing access to your money, God forbid you asked for actual cash of a certain amount and they question you... bitcoin is permissionless. The ledger is for everyone to see and read what's happening at all times. Peer to peer transfer with no questions asked etc etc. Also, the canadian dollar is dying. Bitcoin for a store of value.
