@JoshuaHowsam At the same time, every single MLB team has made the playoffs at least once in the last decade. My ultimate position, though, is that a salary floor would accomplish exactly as much as a cap, just without giving owners a reason to suppress salaries and pocket more money.

@JoshuaHowsam Yeah, it's not a direct consequence but it still underscores the point that a cap isn't a guarantor of parity.

Notable: Stuff+ absolutely loved Max Scherzer's cutter in 2024 (121). Per Baseball Savant, the pitch had more horizontal movement than ever last season. Could just be small-sample noise – he made only nine starts and threw it just 6.1% of the time – but it sure was effective!
